2 - 4 tablespoons liquid of choice*
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
4 - 5 cups powdered sugar
3 - 4 tablespoons rainbow, optional

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat the shortening, sour cream or yogurt and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add salt and powdered sugar, about 1 cup at a time, and mix until each addition has been fully incorporated.

This is an easy frosting recipe I have tweaked to my liking after a few tries. It is very tasty and is pretty easy to make.

2 cups confectioners' sugar
6 tablespoons dairy-free margarine
¼ teaspoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Beat confectioners' sugar and margarine together using an electric mixer on low speed. Add 1/4 teaspoon water to increase creaminess if needed. Add vanilla extract. Increase speed to high and continue to mix until frosting is stiff. Refrigerate until ready to use.
