1/2 medium red onion, cut into thin slivers
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 Italian bread shell (such as Boboli)
8 ounces thinly sliced cooked roast beef
1 small sweet pepper, seeded and chopped
4 ounces crumbled blue cheese
1/4 teaspoon pizza seasoning (optional)

Steps:

  • Position oven rack in center of oven. Preheat oven to 425°F. In large skillet cook onion in 1 tablespoon of the olive oil over medium-high heat 3 to 5 minutes or until onion is just tender. Place bread shell on baking sheet; brush with remaining olive oil. Bake 5 minutes. Meanwhile, stack beef slices on cutting board; slice into strips. Top shell with beef, sweet pepper, onion, cheese, and pizza seasoning. Change oven setting to broil. Broil pizza 4 to 5 minutes or until toppings are heated through and crust is browned. Cut in wedges. Serves 4.

2 loaves (1 pound each) frozen bread dough, thawed
8 bacon strips, chopped
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
5 teaspoons blackened seasoning
3 shallots, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 jar (15 ounces) Alfredo sauce
2-1/2 cups sliced fresh shiitake mushrooms
1 can (3.8 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained
1/2 cup finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes (not packed in oil)
1-1/4 cups (5 ounces) crumbled blue cheese
3 tablespoons minced fresh basil or 3 teaspoons dried basil
2 tablespoons minced fresh thyme or 2 teaspoons dried thyme
12 slices provolone cheese
3 ounces Parmesan cheese, shaved into strips or 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Roll dough into two 16x10-in. rectangles; transfer to ungreased baking sheets and build up edges slightly., In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels with a slotted spoon; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings. Sprinkle chicken with blackened seasoning; cook chicken in the drippings until no longer pink. Add shallots and garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Set aside., Spread sauce over crusts; top with chicken mixture, bacon, mushrooms, olives and tomatoes. Sprinkle with blue cheese, basil and thyme; top with provolone and Parmesan cheeses., Bake at 450° for 14-18 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted.

500g pack bread mix
1 tsp olive oil , plus a little extra for the dough
2 medium onions , chopped
2 garlic cloves , chopped
250g extra-lean minced beef
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp red chilli flakes
5 tbsp tomato purée
6 tbsp pomegranate molasses
400g pickled cherry peppers , roughly chopped
50g feta cheese , crumbled
1 tbsp pine nuts

Steps:

  • Mix the dough following pack instructions (leave about 2 tbsp of the bread mix in the bag for dusting and rolling out later). Knead for 8-10 mins, then coat the dough in oil, place in a large bowl and cover. Leave to rise until doubled in size. The warmer your kitchen is, the faster it will rise, but generally it should take 1-2 hrs.
  • Heat oven to 240C/220C fan/gas 9 (or the highest setting). Sprinkle 2 baking trays with a little of the reserved flour and place in the oven to heat up.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan until hot. Add the onions and garlic, and cook for a few mins until softened. Add the beef and let it brown for about 5 mins, breaking up the mince as it cooks. Pour off any excess oil. Add the spices, chilli, 2 tbsp of the tomato purée, 5 tbsp of the pomegranate molasses and some seasoning. Cook for 1 min, then remove from the heat.
  • Divide the dough into 6 balls. Sprinkle the remaining flour over a work surface and roll out the dough, each to about 25cm across. Remove the trays from the oven and place 2 pizza bases on each (you'll need to cook in batches). Spread the remaining tomato purée on each base. Top with the meat mixture, peppers, feta and pine nuts. Cook for 10 mins or until the bases are cooked through and golden brown around the edges. Drizzle over the remaining pomegranate molasses and serve.

This is my kind of favorite pizza. I have not try this one but this is almost the same as the one I did without any recipe. This is from the issue of November 2005, Coup de Pouce. ETA : I made it on July 24, 2011. I used 1 lb of lean ground beef. And also a store-bought dough already made. I made this pizza sauce : recipe#460241 I added chopped red bell pepper. DH said 10 stars and he didn't know it was my recipe.

1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh black pepper
1 lb pizza dough (for 1 pizza)
1/4 cup pizza sauce
3/4 cup cheddar cheese, grated
3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, grated

Steps:

  • In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper at medium-high heat, stirring from time to time, 3 to 5 minutes or until beef is no longer pink. Drain any fat. Set aside.
  • On a lightly floured surface, lower the dough in a circle of 12 inches of diameter. Put on a greased pizza plate. Spread sauce on the pizza dough. Garnish with beef preparation and sprinkle with cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Cook on the lowest grill in a preheated oven of 500 F for about 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and crust is golden and slighly inflated.
