Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs image

Easy Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs are melt-in-your-mouth incredible! Let your slow cooker do all the work and come home to sticky, fall apart ribs!

Provided by Karina

Categories     Dinner

Time 3h10m

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 cups (500ml) barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper ((optional for a hint of spice))
2 kg (4 pounds) baby back pork ribs
Salt (, to taste)

Steps:

  • Spray inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • Remove inner skin (membrane) from ribs and place ribs in slow cooker. Discard skin.
  • Combine bbq sauce, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Mix well to combine and completely cover with half of the sauce.
  • Season with a good amount of salt and pepper; cover with lid and cook on low setting for 7-9 hours or high setting for 3-5 hours *see notes. Refrigerate remaining sauce to use later.
  • When ribs are tender and falling apart, transfer onto an oven tray (or baking sheet), lined with parchment paper. (Lift them carefully as the meat will be very tender and falling off the bone).
  • Pour half of the juices from the slow cooker bowl into the remaining sauce. Baste ribs with half of the sauce and broil (grill) in preheated oven at 400°F (220°C) for about 10 minutes or until beginning to char and crisp on the edges.
  • Serve ribs with remaining sauce.

SLOW-COOKER BARBECUE RIBS

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs image

Yes, you can cook ribs in a slow cooker! In this easy recipe, the seasoning paste transforms into a savory dipping sauce. Slather it on the ribs and pop them on the grill just before serving for a final char.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Categories     main-dish

Time 4h40m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

One 6-ounce can tomato paste
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon ground mustard seeds
2 teaspoons granulated garlic
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 racks baby back ribs (about 3 pounds)
Oil, for grilling

Steps:

  • Whisk the tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, chili powder, mustard, garlic, paprika, Worcestershire, 1 1/2 tablespoons salt and 1 teaspoon pepper in the insert of a 6-quart slow cooker until smooth. Cut each rack of ribs in half and add to the slow cooker. Use your hands to rub the sauce on to the ribs. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat until tender, about 4 hours.
  • Gently transfer the ribs to a baking sheet and cool for at least 20 minutes; this will help maintain the shape of the ribs as they grill. Whisk the sauce at the bottom of the slow cooker until smooth. Reserve 1/4 cup of the sauce to brush on to the ribs and save any remaining sauce to serve on the side (it will thicken as it cools).
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates. Grill the ribs, top-side down, until lightly charred in parts, 3 to 5 minutes. Flip, brush the top side of the ribs with the reserved barbecue sauce and grill until the underside of the ribs are lightly charred in parts, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove to a platter and serve immediately with the extra barbecue sauce on the side.

BBQ CROCK POT RIBS

BBQ Crockpot Ribs is an easy and delicious recipe that creates fabulous barbecued taste in the slow cooker.

Provided by Leah Maroney

Categories     Entree

Time 8h20m

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 rack spare ribs
For the rub:
1 ½ tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onions powder
1 teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
½ cup apple cider
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
½ cup barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • Gather your ingredients.
  • Trim the rack of ribs. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs using a butter knife to wedge between the membrane and bone. If you don't remove this, the ribs will not be able to fall off the bone. Combine the rub ingredients and coat both sides of the ribs with the rub.
  • Add the ribs to a 4 quart or larger crock pot insert. Place the ribs around the edge of the slow cooker, leaving an opening in the center. Pour the apple cider and liquid smoke into the opening. Place the insert in the crockpot and cook, covered on high for 4 hours or on low for 8 hours.
  • Carefully remove the ribs from the crockpot when they have reached the internal temperature of 165F. Place the ribs on a parchment lined baking sheet. Set your oven to broil and place the rack in the upper (but not too high!) part of the oven.
  • Brush the top of the ribs with the barbecue sauce. Place the ribs under your broiler for about 5 minutes or until the sauce has caramelized.
  • Allow the ribs to rest for 5 minutes and then cut and serve. Serve with more barbecue sauce if desired.
