2 cans (28 ounces each) pork and beans
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup cola
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons ground mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients. Transfer to a greased 3-qt. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hours or until bubbly.

The perfect addition to picnics and barbecues! Simple and delicious. Sure to become one of your favorites. My mother makes this for every family get together. Ham could be added, or more ketchup if desired, but try it this way first - you'll love it!

2 (28 ounce) cans bush's baked beans
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup ketchup
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 lb bacon

Steps:

  • Cut bacon into bite size pieces.
  • Cook bacon in microwave, checking after each minute, or cook in a skillet, draining fat.
  • Don't let it get crisp.
  • Meanwhile, mix the remaining ingredients in a 3 quart casserole dish.
  • Add bacon and mix a little.
  • Bake uncovered for one hour at 350*.
  • It's best if they set out to cool for one hour before you serve them.

2 cups dried navy beans
8 slices crisply cooked bacon, crumbled
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup molasses
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups water

Steps:

  • Bring 10 cups water and navy beans to a boil in a large pot; cook at a boil for 2 minutes. Stir bacon, onion, brown sugar, molasses, and salt into the water.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into a slow cooker.
  • Cook on High, stirring occasionally, for 4 hours.
  • Stir 3 cups water into the mixture. Continue cooking until beans are tender, about 2 hours 15 minutes more.

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Pour in a 2 quart casserole.
  • Cover.
  • Bake 45 minutes at 400°.
  • Remove cover and bake 10 minutes longer.

I have put in a range for some of the ingredients start on the low side and then add more to suit your tastes. Also, you can change up the type of beans used as you desire - just be sure to always start with the large can of pork and beans.

1 (28 ounce) can pork and beans in tomato sauce
15 ounces great northern beans
1 (15 ounce) can butter beans
1 (15 ounce) can light kidney beans
1 (15 ounce) can dark red kidney beans
1 lb bacon, 1/2 dice
2 medium onions, chopped
1/2-1 cup brown sugar
1/4-1/2 cup yellow mustard
1/4-1/2 cup maple syrup or 1/4-1/2 cup Karo syrup

Steps:

  • In a large saute pan fry the bacon and onions together until the bacon is mostly cooked and the onions are translucent.
  • In a large bean pot or oven safe bowl add all the beans (if you like your beans extra thick then drain some of the juice off of all the beans except the pork and beans).
  • Add the brown sugar, yellow mustard, and maple or karo syrup to the beans - start with the lowest amount for each.
  • Using a slotted spoon add the bacon and onion mixture to the beans leaving most of the bacon fat in the pan.
  • Mix everything together ensuring that the brown sugar is disolved.
  • Taste - this is a very important step! Adjust with brown sugar, yellow mustard, and maple or karo syrup to suite your tastes.
  • Bake at 375 for 1 hour or longer - until the beans thicken to your liking.

I must say, I now have a family full of baked bean lovers - MY baked beans! Trust me - Busch's aint got nothin on my me!

1 pound(s) bacon
1 medium onion
1/3 cup(s) sugar
1/3 cup(s) packed brown sugar
1/4 cup(s) ketchup
1/4 cup(s) barbecue sauce

1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper
1 tablespoon(s) chili powder
3 - 16 ounce(s) cans pork and beans, undrained
1 - 16 ounce(s) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, combined beef, diced onion and chopped bacon until meats r cooked and onions are tender. Drain any fat.
  • To the skillet mixture of meats and onions, add both sugars, ketchup, barbecue sauce, mustard, pepper and chili powder and mix well
  • Stir in all of the cans of beans and mix so that everything is dustributed evenly throughout the skillet
  • Place mixture in a greased 2-1/2-qt. casserole dish or a 9x13
  • Bake, covered, at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until heated through.

1/4 cup finely chopped sweet green pepper
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup molasses
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar or 1 teaspoon agave nectar
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
2 (28 ounce) cans bush's vegetarian baked beans

Steps:

  • 1Preheat oven to 400*F.
  • In a deep saucepan, simmer olive oil, vegan butter, green pepper, onion on medium heat ,stirring occasionally, until onions and peppers become softer, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and add tomato paste, cumin, chili powder, mustard, onion and garlic powder, molasses, soy sauce, brown sugar, liquid smoke and canned baked beans.
  • Mix together and pour into a 2qt. glass baking dish sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake for about 45 minutes. Enjoy!

This quick and easy casserole is good enough for company and freezes well. I strongly recommend using the brands I list in the ingredients, unfortunately they may only be available in Canada, in which case use the closest substitute you can find.

1 1/2 lbs extra lean ground beef
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herb seasoning
1/2 cup red wine
398 ml president's choice splendido canned unpeeled cherry tomatoes, undrained
1 1/2 cups prego original spaghetti sauce
300 ml olivieri alfredo pasta cooking sauce low-fat alfredo sauce, divided
350 g cheese and spinach ravioli, divided
1 cup reduced-fat mozzarella cheese, pizza cheese, President's Choice Splendido Less Fat Pizza Blend divided

Steps:

  • For maximum flavour prepare the meat sauce in advance and refrigerate until needed.
  • In a heavy Dutch oven on high heat brown the ground beef. Stir constantly so so meat breaks up and is not in big chunks.
  • Add onions and garlic and reduce heat to medium low.
  • Stir in oregano and Italian herbs and the red wine.
  • Add the tomatoes and break them up until they are crushed but be careful - they pop and the liquid spurts out!
  • Pour in the Prego sauce, cover with lid and reduce to lowest heat.
  • Simmer on low 45 minutes. Stir occasionally to check it doesn't get dried out. Cool completely and set aside until you're read to assemble the casserole.
  • Prepare ravioli as per package instructions, don't over cook. Drain well.
  • In a sprayed 9 x 9 inch casserole, spread a thin layer of meat sauce, cover with half the ravioli.
  • Add another layer of meat sauce. On top of this layer drop half the Alfredo sauce by the spoonful, spread it gently, lastly sprinkle with a half cup of the grated cheese.
  • Repeat the second layer: ravioli, meat sauce, Alfredo sauce and remaining half cup grated cheese.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F. for 30 minutes. Allow to sit for 15 minutes to set up before serving.
  • Serve with green salad and garlic bread.
