As if you needed another reason to love bacon. Don't miss this sweet and savory appetizer from Russ Crandall of The Domestic Man.

12 ounces bacon strips, cut into thirds crosswise
1 ½ pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cut in 1/2-inch cubes
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon melted butter
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch black pepper
1 pinch Sea salt to taste
1 sheet Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil. Set aside.
  • Wrap each sweet potato cube with a bacon slice, holding in place with a toothpick. Place on the prepared baking sheet, toothpicks facing up.
  • Combine the olive oil, melted butter, cinnamon and pepper, stirring until well mixed. Drizzle the mixture over the sweet potato bites. Sprinkle with sea salt. Loosely tent the toothpicks with damp paper towels and wrap the baking sheet with Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil, being careful not to pierce the foil. Bake until the potatoes are just tender, about 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and paper towels and return to the oven; bake until the bacon is crispy and the fat starts to render, 15-20 more minutes. Blot the excess fat with the paper towels, then serve.

2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 large sweet potatoes (about 1-3/4 pounds), peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
1 pound bacon strips, halved
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
Maple syrup, warmed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, mix butter and seasonings. Add sweet potatoes and toss to coat., Wrap 1 piece bacon around each sweet potato cube; secure with a toothpick. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Place on a parchment-lined 15x10x1-in. baking pan., Bake until bacon is crisp and sweet potato is tender, 40-45 minutes. Serve with maple syrup.

1/4 cup butter (melted)
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon cayene pepper
1/4 Teaspoon cinnamon
2 large sweet potatoes (peeled and cut into 1 inch squares)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 lb thin bacon strips cut in half

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix the melted butter, salt,cayene pepper and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Add the potatoes and toss to coat.
  • Place the brown sugar in a shallow bowl. Wrap one piece of bacon around a sweet potato cube, secure it with a tooth pick. Roll the bacon wrapped sweet potato cube in the brown sugar so all sides are coated. Repeat for each cube.
  • Place the cubes on a parchment lined baking sheet, bake 40 - 45 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Cool completely before serving.

2 t avocado oil
1/4 t paprika
1/4 t black pepper
1/4 t sea salt
1/8 t cinnamon
10 strips pasture-raised bacon, sliced in half

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut sweet potatoes into thick, one-inch rounds (should be thick enough for bacon to wrap around). Toss with olive oil and seasonings in a mixing bowl.
  • Wrap half a slice of bacon around the edge of a sweet potato round, overlapping slightly. Secure with a toothpick and place onto prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake 35-40 minutes. Set bites onto a paper towel for three minutes to crisp up.

1 lb bacon strips (cut into thirds)
1/4 c brown sugar
maple syrup (warmed)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter in a large, microwave safe bowl. Mix in the salt, cayenne, and cinnamon.
  • Add the sweet potato cubes and toss until evenly coated.
  • Wrap 1 piece of bacon around each potato cube and fasten with a toothpick. Place all the wrapped potatoes onto the baking sheet. Sprinkle with the brown sugar.*Alternative Tip: Place the brown sugar in a bowl and dip bacon strips on one or both sides in the brown sugar. 1 (24 ounce) package Simply Potatoes Red Potato Wedges
6 slices bacon
3 tablespoons sour cream
3 teaspoons hot sauce
2 tablespoons flat leaf parsley

Steps:

  • Pre heat oven to 350 degree. Add the frozen potato wedges to a baking sheet and put it in the oven for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the potatoes and cut them into bite sizes. Approximately 1 inches each.
  • Wrap 2 inches of bacon around 2 pieces of bite sized potatoes. Then use a tooth pick to hold them together.
  • Add the bacon wrapped potatoes back in the oven for 30 minutes. Turn them over after the first 15 minutes.

sour cream (optional) or chives, potato toppers (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F Line baking sheet with aluminum foil; spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Cut potatoes into quarters to make six wedges. Bake in oven for 30-45 minutes, or until baked through.
  • Cut each potato wedge crosswise into three pieces. Halve each strip of bacon, crosswise.
  • Blend mustard, vinegar, sugar, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Brush or dip each potato piece with mustard mixture. Wrap bacon piece around each potato wedge. Secure with toothpick. Place on baking sheet.
