CHEESE AND BACON DIP

Cheese and Bacon Dip image

Recipe video above. This warm dip is really creamy, super cheesy and loaded with bacon. It takes minutes to make in the microwave! Serving it in a bread bowl is optional - I love it because I love tearing into the dip soaked bread. This makes around 4 1/2 - 5 cups of dip. Plenty!

Provided by Nagi | RecipeTin Eats

Categories     Starter

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 12

350 g / 12 oz bacon (, chopped)
250 g / 8 oz cream cheese (, softened)
1 cup sour cream ((preferably full fate))
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp garlic powder ((or sub with onion powder))
1 cup shredded tasty or cheddar cheese ((Note 1))
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese ((Note 1))
1 cup shallots / scallions (, chopped (~4 - 5 stalks))
1 round cob bread ((sourdough works best))
5 Jatz / Ritz or other plain savoury cracker (, crushed (Note 2))
Oil spray
Crackers (, chips, toasted bread)

Steps:

  • Cook bacon in a non stick skillet / fry pan over high heat until browned. Transfer to paper towel lined plate to drain.
  • Mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream and garlic powder together in a heat proof bowl.
  • Stir through most of the bacon, all the cheese and most of the shallots. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. The dip may look like the oil from the cheese has separated. Just stir well and it will come (and stay) together.
  • If serving as is, pour into a serving bowl, top with remaining bacon and shallots.
  • Serve with crackers, chips and the bread you pulled out to create the bread bowl (I toast it).

BACON-RANCH SPINACH DIP

Bacon-Ranch Spinach Dip image

Bacon, spinach dip, and Ranch -- Is there anything not to love in those words? And all three combine beautifully to create this delicious Bacon-Ranch Spinach Dip. Add in that this tasty dip is ridiculously easy to make, and you've got yourself a game day and party winner, for sure.

Provided by Tracey | The Kitchen is My Playground

Categories     Dips

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 c. sour cream
1 1/4 c. mayonnaise
1 (1 oz.) package Ranch dressing mix
1/2 c. imitation bacon bits
3 T. chopped green onions (about 2 green onions)
2 (10 oz.) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed & well-drained

Steps:

  • In a bowl, stir together sour cream, mayonnaise, and dry Ranch dressing mix until well combined.
  • Stir in bacon bits and green onion, then stir in drained chopped spinach.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  • For preparation ease and flavor, we recommend using imitation bacon bits in this recipe. -- They actually impart more bacon flavor than real bacon. That being said, crumbled crispy bacon or packaged real bacon pieces can be substituted, if you'd like.
