Steps:
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, salt, powdered ginger, cinnamon, garlic, cloves, black pepper, and crushed red pepper.
- Place the tenderloins in the slow cooker. Rub the seasonings over the pork, including the bottom.
- Pour ½ cup water in the slow cooker, on the edge or in the middle so that you don't wash off all the spices you just rubbed on.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours, then preheat your broiler.
- While the pork is finishing up in the slow cooker and your broiler heats up, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, cornstarch, rice vinegar, COLD water, and soy sauce in a small saucepan.
- Set over medium heat and stir until mixture thickens, about 4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in minced ginger.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick spray.
- Remove the pork from the crock pot (discard the liquid) and place on the lined baking sheet. Brush a generous amount of the glaze on the pork.
- Put your oven rack as high as it will go, and broil the pork for 1 or 2 minutes, until bubbly and caramelized. Don't walk away! Repeat 2 to 3 more times until it is as crusty as you want it. I wouldn't go many more times than this though, or your pork will dry out.
- Serve with remaining glaze on the side, and garnish with lime and cilantro. I love to serve this pork with Asian Cauliflower "Rice."

SPICY CHINESE PORK TENDERLOIN
This easy recipe is one of my favorite dinners for company. Leaving out the red pepper flakes, makes it a dish for anyone. Presented on a platter over rice, it looks very appealing. It is equally as good made on the grill, or in the oven. It originally came from a syndicated column in our local newspaper. Prep time includes marinading.

INSTANT POT CHINESE PORK TENDERLOIN
Chinese roast pork is one of my favorite things on earth. And so I decided to create a pork tenderloin remiscient of those flavors while still being super easy to make. Chinese Five Spice is a key player here and it can be found in many markets or online.

Steps:
- Take the pork tenderloin (usually two come in the pack) and slice it into medallions/discs about 1/2-inch thick. Place the pork medallions into a gallon freezer bag and set aside
- In a mixing bowl, make the marinade by combining 1/2 cup of the beef broth, the brown sugar, kosher salt, 1 tsp of the Chinese Five Spice, paprika, soy sauce, cooking sherry, 1 tbsp of hoisin sauce, crushed garlic, crushed ginger and miso paste (if using). Mix together very well and then pour over the pork in the bag. Press the air out of the bag, seal tightly and place in the refrigerator for 24 hours, flipping once mid-way through (Do NOT skip this step. Trust me - you want that magical sauce seeping into every crevice of that pork).
- 24 hours later, dump the bag with the pork and all of its marinade into the Instant Pot. Add in the additional 1/2 cup of beef broth, 1/4 cup of hoisin sauce, 1/2 tsp of Chinese Five Spice and 1/3 cup of honey. Mix well and make sure the pork is nice and submerged into the marinade (it is fine if some of the pork protrudes above it)
- Secure the lid and cook on "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" High Pressure for 8 minutes. Allow a 10 minute natural release and follow with a quick release.
- When done cooking, use a slotted spoon to transfer the pork to a serving dish. Then, take the sauce from the pot and carefully pour it through a strainer and into a bowl. Allow the strainer to catch all the excess fat from the pork, discard and return the strained sauce back to the Instant Pot
- Hit "Keep Warm/Cancel" on the Instant Pot and then "Sauté" and adjust to the "High" or "More" setting. Add in the cornstarch slurry and stir well. Allow the sauce to bubble for a minute as this is what causes it to thicken up. After a minute of bubbling, turn the pot off and allow it to simmer down so it's only slightly bubbling. Give it a good stir. The sauce will begin to thicken to that perfect consistency now
- Using a serving spoon, cascade the sauce over all of the pork and serve! This is the PERFECT companion to my mega-popular Hibachi Fried Rice so if you have a second Instant Pot, make that with it! Or you can just use any regular rice on the stove as well ?
- Enjoy!

ROAST PORK TENDERLOIN WITH ASIAN GLAZE
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a small roasting pan (or use a 9X13-inch baking dish) with foil and lightly oil the foil. This is important because the glaze has a high sugar content and will scorch during roasting.
- Meanwhile, combine 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/2 tablespoon ginger, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper in a self-sealing plastic bag and mix to dissolve the sugar. Add the pork tenderloins and close the bag. Toss the meat in the bag to coat it with the marinade. Marinade for at least 30 minutes or up to 3 hours.
- Remove the pork tenderloins from the marinade and place in the roasting pan. Drizzle about half of the marinade over the pork. Discard the remaining marinade. Roast for 15 minutes. Baste the pork with the marinade in the roasting pan. Continue roasting until an instant-read thermometer reads 150-155, about 25 minutes more. The marinade will eventually thicken and scorch, but the foil will protect the pan, so don't worry. Transfer the pork to a cutting board and let stand for 5 minutes.
- While the pork is resting, bring the remaining 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1/2 tablespoon ginger, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, 1 minced garlic clove and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper to a boil over high heat in a small saucepan.
- Cut the roast pork crosswise on a slight diagonal into thin slices and arrange the overlapping slices on a platter. Drizzle the hot marinade over the pork, sprinkle with the scallion, and serve immediately.

Working with one at a time, open up tenderloins, place between 2 sheets of plastic wrap, and pound to 3/4-inch thickness. Combine soy sauce, preserves, hoisin sauce, sherry, ginger, sesame oil, garlic, five-spice powder, and pepper in bowl. Reserve 3/4 cup marinade. Charcoal grill: Open bottom vent completely. Light large chimney starter filled with charcoal briquettes (6 quarts). When top coals are partially covered with ash, pour evenly over grill. Set cooking grate in place, cover, and open lid vent completely. Heat grill until hot, about 5 minutes. Gas grill: Turn all burners to high, cover, and heat grill until hot, about 15 minutes. Turn all burners to medium-high. Clean and oil cooking grate. Pat pork dry with paper towels, then rub with vegetable oil. - Mix together spices for the dry rub then rub it thoroughly into the pork. Heat up a large saute pan over medium high heat. Once hot, add ghee and sear the pork on all sides, about 2 minutes per side. Once seared, place on the baking sheet. Place in oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees. Once done cooking, remove and place some foil on top and let rest for about 5 minutes.
- As soon as the pork goes in the oven, place all of the ingredients for the sauce, except for the cilantro, into the pan and use a wooden spatula to scrape the bits from the pork. Let come to a low boil and reduce down by a third. This will take 10-15 minutes depending on the pan size. Once sauce coats the back of a spoon, add chopped cilantro.
