3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons sherry
¼ cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon barbeque sauce
2 green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
1 ½ pounds flank steak
skewers

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together hoisin sauce, sherry, soy sauce, barbeque sauce, green onions, garlic, and ginger.
  • Cut flank steak across grain on a diagonal into 1/4 inch slices. Place slices in a 1 gallon resealable plastic bag. Pour hoisin sauce mixture over slices, and mix well. Refrigerate 2 hours, or overnight.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Discard marinade, and thread steak on skewers.
  • Oil the grill grate. Grill skewers 3 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.

1 pound beef sirloin tip roast
1/3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup water
4 medium carrots, julienned
1/2 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
1 large sweet red pepper, julienned
1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1-1/4 teaspoons prepared horseradish

Steps:

  • Cut beef widthwise into 16 slices, 1/4 in. thick. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the soy sauce, sugar and ginger; add beef. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 4 hours., In a large saucepan, bring water and carrots to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 3 minutes. Add the beans and red pepper; cover and simmer for 3-5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Drain and immediately place vegetables in ice water. Drain and pat dry., Drain and discard marinade from beef. Arrange three beans, one carrot strip and one pepper strip down the center of each beef slice; roll up. For each kabob use metal or soaked wooden skewers and thread two bundles on two parallel skewers., Using long-handled tongs, moisten a paper towel with cooking oil and lightly coat the grill rack. Grill kabobs, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 3-5 minutes on each side or until beef reaches desired doneness. , In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, mustard and horseradish. 1 red onion (cut into one inch pieces )
1 green bell pepper (cut into one inch pieces )

Steps:

  • Cut steak into one inch cubes.

1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup sesame oil
3 green onions, thinly sliced
1 lemon, juiced
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (1 1/2-pound) flank steak

Steps:

  • Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, green onions, lemon juice, sesame seeds, ginger, and garlic together in a bowl until marinade is smooth.
  • Thinly slice steak with the grain into 1/4-inch thick pieces. Thread steak slices onto skewers and place in a flat plastic or glass container. Pour marinade over skewers. 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/4 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
Salt and black pepper
1 cup mayonnaise
Zest and juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Salt and black pepper
Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Steps:

  • For the beef: Heat the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle the sirloin cubes with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. In batches if necessary, sear the meat on all sides and cook until medium rare, 2 to 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and set aside to cool.
  • Meanwhile, make the dipping sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lime zest and juice, vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, red pepper flakes and some salt and pepper.
  • Thread the beef onto toothpicks (2 pieces per). Garnish with cilantro and serve with the dipping sauce.

14 oz (400g) lean diced steak, with fat trimmed
1 large bok choy, shredded
1 large handful of kale, shredded
1 spring onion, sliced
1/2 cucumber, deseeded and diced
1 tbsp sherry vinegar
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp soy sauce
1 red chile, deseeded and thinly sliced (optional)
For the marinade:
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp honey
1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, grated

Steps:

  • Create your marinade by mixing the soy, mirin and honey with half of the ginger and pour it over the steak, leaving to marinate for about an hour.
  • Mix the bok choy, kale, spring onion and cucumber and toss with the sherry vinegar, the olive oil, the remaining ginger and the soy sauce and assemble in a serving bowl.
  • Using small skewers, thread about four steak pieces on to each skewer and then sear in a hot frying pan for about 2 minutes on each side.
  • Once all the steak has been cooked, serve with the salad. Finish with a sprinkling of chile, if using.

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix garlic, ginger, soy sauce, vinegar, oil and sugar. Remove the fat from the steak and cut the meat in dices of 1 inch. Add beef to the marinade and let rest for 10 minutes.
  • On metal skewers or presoaked bamboo skewers, thread beef cubes by alternating with green onion. Set the barbecue to medium high. Brush the beef skewers with the marinade and put on a oiled grill of the barbecue. Close cover and cook about 10 minutes or until beef is grilled but still pink inside (flip the skewers 3 times during cooking time).

1 lb beef top sirloin steak
6 green onions, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons dry sherry
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Steps:

  • Trim all fat from steak. Cut steak crosswise into 1/4-inch thick strips.
  • Make marinade by combining brown sugar, sherry, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and ginger.
  • Place beef and half of the marinade mixture in sealable plastic bag, turning to coat. Close securely and marinate in refrigerator 20 minutes. Reserve remaining marinade.
  • Meanwhile, soak 16 bamboo skewers (6") in water 10 minutes.
  • Remove beef from marinade and discard marinade.
