Honey Glazed Ginger Garlic Salmon (gluten-free, dairy-free, healthyish) image

Asian Honey Glazed Ginger Garlic Salmon - it's light, incredibly delicious, and will melt in your mouth.

1.25 pounds fresh salmon
2 inch ginger (grated)
6 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 tbsp honey
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce (preferably light & gluten-free)
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tbsp hoisin sauce (preferably gluten-free)
1 tbsp siracha
1 tbsp vinegar or rice vinegar
juice of 1/2 a lime
2-3 stalks of scallions (chopped)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash the salmon and pat dry. Place the salmon on a foiled tray.
  • For the marinade, in a bowl combine the lite soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, siracha, vinegar, and lime juice. Stir well.
  • Grate the ginger and chop the garlic.
  • Add the ginger and garlic to the marinade.
  • Top the salmon with 2 spoonfuls of the marinade like so.
  • Just like that.
  • This is what you should have once done.
  • Place the salmon into the oven for 19-20 minutes until the salmon is no longer red inside, but rather pink.
  • In the meantime chop the scallions and set aside for garnish.
  • Once the salmon is done, garnish with scallions and serve immediately with brown rice or quinoa, and a side of vegetables.

Baked Soy Ginger Salmon-An easy, foolproof recipe for moist and flavorful baked salmon with honey soy ginger glaze. Simple, healthy, and delicious!

3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic (minced (about 2 teaspoons))
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon garlic-chili paste (sriracha, or 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes)
1 pound skin-on salmon fillet* (at room temperature, cut into 3-4 portions)
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
Chopped green onions (for serving)
Toasted sesame seeds (for serving)

Steps:

  • Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat to 425 degrees F. Place a large cast-iron skillet or other sturdy, ovenproof skillet on a burner set to high and heat for at least 10 minutes. You want the pan screaming hot or the salmon will stick to it.
  • In a small saucepan, stir together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium high, then remove from heat and stir in the honey and chili paste. Remove a few spoonfuls of the cooked glaze in a separate bowl for serving.
  • Drizzle the salmon with the olive oil and brush so that it is evenly coated. Place the salmon skin-side up on the hot skillet. Let cook for about 3 minutes, totally undisturbed, until the salmon forms a nice crust. When the salmon turns opaque on the sides and starts to turn opaque on top, use a flexible spatula to flip the salmon so that it is skin-side down. Brush or spoon the remaining glaze in the saucepan all over the top. Place the skillet immediately into the oven and let cook for 6 minutes (the salmon will appear a little undercooked in the center but will finish cooking as it rests). Remove from the oven and cover with foil. Let rest 4 to 5 minutes. Serve immediately, topped with reserved glaze, chopped green onion, and sesame seeds.

This salmon is marinated in a simple but super tasty Asian marinade and then broiled/grilled to produce a gorgeous caramelisation. Fast enough for midweek, fancy enough for company!

2 salmon fillets (, skinless (approximately 0.8 - 1lb / 400 - 500g))
1 tsp fresh ginger (, finely grated)
1 garlic clove (, crushed)
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp sweet chili sauce ((Note 1))
Sesame seeds
Scallions/shallots (, finely sliced)
Steamed Asian Greens
Rice

Steps:

  • Combine the Marinade ingredients in a shallow bowl. Add salmon and turn to coat. Cover and marinate for 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  • Heat grill/broiler on high. Place the rack 25 cm / 10" from the heat source.
  • Place salmon on baking tray (no oil required). Scrape all the excess glaze from the bowl onto the salmon.
  • Grill/broil for 7 to 10 minutes, until the top of the salmon is beautifully caramelised. Be careful not to overcook the salmon!
  • Serve salmon sprinkled with sesame seeds, scallions/shallots with rice and steamed Asian greens on the side.

A simple mix of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger coats and flavors your fish for 30 minutes before you throw it on the pan until the outside is perfectly crispy. Once that's done, you heat up and reduce some extra marinade to make a thick, to-die-for glaze to pour over your filet. Serve with your favorite veggies or rice and enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 8

12 oz skinless salmon
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons ginger, minced
½ teaspoon red pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
⅓ cup less sodium soy sauce
⅓ cup honey

Steps:

  • Place salmon in a sealable bag or medium bowl.
  • In a small bowl or measuring cup, mix marinade ingredients.
  • Pour half of the marinade on the salmon. Save the other half for later.
  • Let the salmon marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a medium pan, heat oil. Add salmon to the pan, but discard the used marinade. Cook salmon on one side for about 2-3 minutes, then flip over and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove salmon from pan. Pour in remaining marinade and reduce.
  • Serve the salmon with sauce and a side of veggies. We used broccoli.
  • Enjoy!
