½ cup hoisin sauce
½ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon chili-garlic sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sesame oil

GRILLED KOREAN-STYLE BBQ GLAZED PORK CHOPS WITH RED ONIONS AND BABY BOK CHOY

Grilled Korean-Style BBQ Glazed Pork Chops with Red Onions and Baby Bok Choy image

Instead of marinating the meat, which is typical of Korean BBQ, these pork chops are brushed in a nutty hoisin glaze while they're on the grill. Grilled veggies, tossed in that same sweet and spicy glaze are served alongside.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Categories     main-dish

Time 45m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce, such as Sriracha
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon peeled and finely grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, grated
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
4 bone-in pork chops (about 3 pounds)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 red onion, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
4 to 6 baby bok choy, halved lengthwise (about 1 pound)

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Stir together the soy sauce, chili sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, vinegar, grated ginger and grated garlic in a small bowl. Reserve 2 tablespoons for the vegetables and then stir in the hoisin sauce. Set half aside for serving with the cooked pork chops and stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons water.
  • Sprinkle the pork chops on both sides with 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper for all 4 chops. Place the pork chops and onions on a lightly oiled grill. Grill until the pork chops are just slightly pink near the bone, 6 minutes on the first side and 4 to 5 minutes on the second side. Grill the onions until they are soft. Start brushing both the pork and the onions with the hoisin sauce mixture about halfway through grilling. Transfer the pork chops to a cutting board to rest for about 5 minutes and the onions to a bowl.
  • Put the bok choy in a large bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave until the center core has softened and can easily be pierced with the tip of a sharp knife, 3 to 5 minutes. Season the bok choy with 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper and grill until charred, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Add to the bowl with the onions and gently toss with the reserved 2 tablespoons ginger sauce. Serve the pork chops with the grilled vegetables and the reserved hoisin sauce mixture on the side.

SESAME PORK MILANESE

Sesame Pork Milanese image

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Categories     main-dish

Time 30m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

4 boneless pork chops (about 6 ounces each)
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
1 3/4 cups panko
2 teaspoons vegetable oil, plus more for frying
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
4 teaspoons white miso paste
1 5-ounce package mixed baby spinach and arugula
3 carrots, grated
1 cup assorted cherry tomatoes, halved

Steps:

  • Pound the pork chops with a meat mallet or heavy skillet until about 1/4 inch thick; season with salt and pepper. Put the flour in a shallow baking dish. Whisk the eggs, 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil and a pinch each of salt and pepper in a second dish. Put the panko in a third dish. Working with 1 chop at a time, coat in the flour and then dip in the egg, shaking off any excess; firmly press both sides in the panko.
  • Heat about 1/2 cup vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until very hot (a breadcrumb should instantly sizzle in the oil). Working in batches, fry the chops, turning once, until browned and cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain; season with salt. (Add more oil to the skillet between batches if needed to maintain a thin layer.)
  • While the chops cook, whisk the vinegar, miso, 2 teaspoons vegetable oil and the remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil in a large bowl until smooth. Add the greens, carrots and tomatoes and toss; season with salt and pepper. Serve with the pork chops.

AMAZING ASIAN GLAZED PORK CHOPS

Amazing Asian Glazed Pork Chops image

Lean and boneless pan fried pork loin chops cook up in a flash. Glazed with Asian-inspired flavors, this juicy quick & easy pork chop recipe is a quick and easy weeknight family hit!

Categories     Main Dish     Pork     Quick and Easy     Asian

Time 25m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 20

sesame seeds
rice vinegar
orange juice
mirin (sweet seasoning)
ginger
brown sugar
red pepper flakes
pork loin chops
cilantro
vegetable oil
sesame seeds
rice vinegar
orange juice
mirin (sweet seasoning)
ginger
brown sugar
red pepper flakes
pork loin chops
cilantro
vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Dry roast the sesame seeds in a small skillet over medium heat for about 3 minutes until toasted. Set aside. In a small bowl or measuring cup, add the rice wine vinegar, orange juice, mirin, ginger, brown sugar and mix well until sugar is dissolved. Make ½ inch deep cuts about 1 inch apart on the fat/silverskin edge of the pork chops. This will help prevent them from cupping when cooking. Dry well with paper towels and season with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat the vegetable oil in a 12-inch (30 cm) skillet over medium-high heat until beginning to smoke. Add the pork chops and cook until well browned, about 4 minutes (or longer if your chops are thick). Turn and cook another minute. Check the pork internal temperature; if your pork chops are on the thin side, they may already have reached the internal target temperature of 140℉ (60℃) F. If so remove to a plate and tent with foil. Add the glaze mixture to the skillet, and continue cooking the pork until the internal temperature reaches 140℉ (60℃) F (about 3 of 4 minutes) and transfer the pork chops to a plate, tent with foil and allow them to rest for 5 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat. After resting, add any accumulated juices and reheat the skillet over medium heat. Simmer, whisking constantly, until the glaze is thick and caramel colored, from 2 to 5 minutes. Return the pork chops to the pan, turning to smother with the glaze and transfer to a platter, browned side up and spread with the remaining glaze. Serve immediately garnished with some fresh cilantro and sesame seeds. Secrets to Juicy Pan-fried pork chops Don't overcook. Cook for internal temperature using an inexpensive food thermometer. Digital food thermometers such as this one can be obtained for less than $10. For more on perfectly cooking pork chops check out our Guide for cooking Pork.
