4 to 5 cooking apples (medium, peeled, cored and sliced)
3 to 4 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 dash salt
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup butter
1/4 cup oats
1/4 cup walnuts (chopped)

Steps:

  • Mix apples with sugar, cinnamon and a touch of salt. Place sliced apples in 8 inch square non-stick baking pan or pan sprayed with cooking spray.
  • For the topping, in a medium bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, oats and walnuts. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or cross cutting with 2 knives, until you have coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until apples are tender and crumbs are golden. Serve warm or cold. Add a dollop of whipped topping or ice cream to the top if you want.

4 cups Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup cold butter

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the peeled and sliced apples in a medium-size bowl.
  • Sprinkle the sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon over the apples and mix.
  • Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray.
  • Pour the apple filling into the prepared pan.
  • Using the same bowl that you mixed the apples in, combine the oatmeal, brown sugar, flour, soda and baking powder.
  • Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the oatmeal streusel on top of the apple mixture and pat it down firmly.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until it is golden brown.

  • Peel apples and then chop into 1/2-inch pieces right into the buttered dish. Add the lemon juice to the apples and gently toss to coat the apples. Add the vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, and cornstarch and gently mix until distributed throughout the apples.

1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar (up to 1 cup depending on sweetness of apples)

1 stick butter (1/2 cup)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Peel and slice 2 1/2 to 3 cups of apples. That will be two larger apples or three smaller. Avoid Red Delicious and Macintosh apples.
  • Prep an 8-inch square baking dish with a butter coat.
  • Combine one cup flour with 1 cup sugar but adjust the sugar down to 3/4 cup if your apples are very sweet. Add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Mix well. Cut 8 tablespoons of butter into dry ingredients.
  • Spread the sliced apples in the dish. Spread topping over apples

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup uncooked old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup cold Land O Lakes® Butter
Vanilla ice cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Place apples into ungreased 8-inch square baking dish.
  • Combine brown sugar, oats, flour and cinnamon in bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle sugar mixture over apples. Bake 25-35 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.

1 1/2 cups flour (I used white whole wheat, you could also use all-purpose))
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup walnuts (chopped)
butter for greasing baking dish
6 large Golden Delicious apples
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • To make the topping: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir in remaining topping ingredients (flour through walnuts) until combined. Remove from heat.
  • Grease a 9×13" baking dish.
  • Core apples and cut into quarters (and peel if you like). In a large bowl, cut quarters crosswise into 1/4-inch thick pieces. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and stir to coat.
  • Transfer apples to prepared baking dish and cover evenly with topping mixture.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm.

2 -3 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream

Steps:

  • Toss apples with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon; turn into an 8x8" baking pan that has been lightly coated with no-stick cooking spray; dot with butter.
  • Cut together flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly; sprinkle evenly over apples.

1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
8 medium apples, peeled & sliced (about 6 cups)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine brown sugar, oats, flour and cinnamon.
  • Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Arrange 1/2 of the apple slices in a buttered 8 inch square baking dish.
  • Sprinkle apples with half of the sugar mixture.
  • Top with remaining apples, followed by the remaining sugar mixture.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until apples are tender.
  • Serve warm.
