Delicious drink that could double as dessert! I love Amarula and this is like a grown up milkshake.....yummo! Got this one from Food and Drink magazine.

Ingredients

1 ounce Amarula cream liqueur
1/2 ounce rum
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
1 ounce milk
4 ice cubes
butterscotch syrup

Steps:

To a blender, add Amarula Cream Liquor, Rum, ice, vanilla ice cream and milk.
Blend until slushy.
Using a squeeze bottle, decorate the inside of a highball glass with butterscotch syrup.
Pour contents from blender into highball glass, swirl on top with butterscotch syrup.

It's hard to go wrong with Amarula and very easy to make a variety of cocktails. This is a shake I make for hot lazy days when I need a little pick-me up. Made with Amarula, Kahlua and cream. If you enjoy the flavors of chocolate, caramel and vanilla, give this a try ;) I'm being modest in these measurements, I like mine a tot stronger.

1 ounce Amarula cream liqueur
1 ounce Kahlua
2 ounces 2% low-fat milk
1 cup crushed ice

Steps:

Using a blender, (I use my magic bullet) add Amarula, Kahlua and milk with 1 cup crushed ice.
Blend until smooth.

Amarula is a creamy liqueur made from the exotic fruit of the African Marula tree normally found in Sub-Saharan African. This tree is also called the elephant tree because elephants love eating the fruits which fall on the ground and are fermented in the sun, it is rumored to make them tipsy. Most people do not have access to marula fruit so this recipe for Amarula will serve you in its absence.Africa

1 tbsp coffee
8 shots whiskey
1 can condensed milk
200 ml full cream
1 tsp honey

Steps:

Ensure you have quality coffee.
Make a very strong coffee. It should be about 100 ml filter and allow to cool.
Pour in the whiskey, condensed milk, full cream and honey and mix properly.
Transfer into a bottle and store in the fridge to ferment for 7 days. Ensure you shake every day.

Sipping Amarula with Ice Place 3-4 ice cubes in a rocks glass. Fill a rocks glass with 3-4 large square ice cubes. If you're using smaller ice cubes, fill the glass halfway with ice.
Drinking Amarula with Coffee Pour coffee into a large mug. Brew a fresh cup of coffee using a drip machine, French press, or another method.
Making a Coconut Water or Citrus Amarula Cocktail Place 2.5 oz (71 g) of crushed ice of crushed ice into a cocktail shaker. Get pre-purchased crushed ice or crush ice yourself by grinding up ice cubes in a blender.
Creating an Amarula Shake Add 3-4 scoops of vanilla ice cream and 1 c (240 ml) of milk to a blender. Use whichever brand of vanilla ice cream you prefer the most.

Shot:Amarula Cream doesn’t taste like you’d expect it to taste because you – unless you’re from Pretoria – associate creamy, khaki liqueurs with a sort of coffee-meets-toffee taste and severe hangovers.
Shots: The taste stays shocking for longer than expected. This is partly because Amarula is a drink that tends to follow other drinks – which is precisely what it is doing – and partly because the alcohol itself – at 17 percent by volume – isn’t much of a distraction.
Shots: Amarula is unbelievably creamy. It has a great mouth feel, but it’s a bad choice for anyone suffering from the scourge that is lactose intolerance.
Shots: The alcohol is not a problem. The problem is the inappropriate quantity. Amarula is sipped at by the fanciest Cape Townians in the Winelands. They are better than this.
Shots: The guy across the table loves the stuff. He’s swilling it around in his mouth like it’s mother’s milk. He isn’t from South Africa, but he’s spent some time there.
Shots: You acclimate to that taste. They say that elephants walk hundreds of miles to eat the fruit of the “Marriage Tree” and that sounds less and less unreasonable.
Shots: The feeling is not unlike being over-inflated into some sort of fleshy balloon. It’s definitely not pleasant – even if the drink itself is. And the heating, intended to counteract a cold front, isn’t helping.
Shots: Didn’t win the race, but still crossed the finish line. There’s honor in that even if there isn’t much to be said for throwing back good booze – good booze that made the trip from Stellenbosch.
