LATE APRIL VISIT TO LOUISVILLE AND LEXINGTON
May 24, 2015 First night in Lexington was getting late for dinner and it was a long day of a tour at Claiborne Farms and a full day of races at Keeneland, so we stopped at Alfalfa, which was close to our hotel. Another place I wanted to like more, the food sounded better than it tasted. Again, wished BYOB was legal after seeing the brief wine list.

DOES LOUISVILLE HAVE ANY NEW YEARS FOOD "TRADITIONS"
Dec 23, 2008 Greens? It's supposed to ensure prosperity in the new year. Hoppin' John has black eyed peas, rice, and bacon. They serve that at Alfalfa's in Lexington, and it is really tasty! Not sure what the spicy ingredient is, but I can tell why they call it Hoppin'! My family has the traditional corned beef, cabbage, mashed potatoes, and black eyed peas.

LOUISVILLE RESTAURANTS FORUM • VIEW TOPIC - FOUR DAYS IN …
Dec 1, 2012 On warm days, it's nice to sit on the patio. For lunch, I brought food back to hubby from Alfalfa. Their meny is awesome, but you must check out the daily chalkboard items as well. I chose the Tomato Bisque Soup, Broccoli Quiche and a side of German potato salad. Big hit! Supposedly Calipari loves the soup, it's one of the best I've tasted.

LOUISVILLE'S TIMELESS CLASSICS: WHAT ARE THEY?
Aug 29, 2012 They had a great B&B, with alfalfa sprouts, in the 80's. The "Queen Anne" B&B at The Cafe on Brent street is a great example. I actually think (of course, all chefs do) my benedictine is the bomb. NO FOOD COLORING! (although, I will admit, as a caterer, people don't really seem to recognize benedictine unless it's colored green).
