Steps:

  • Preheat a 3.5-quart air fryer to 270 degrees F. Add the eggs to the fryer basket and cook 15 minutes for hard-boiled eggs. Remove the eggs and plunge them into an ice bath. Peel when cool enough to handle.
  • For soft-boiled eggs, cook them 10 minutes. For medium-boiled eggs cook for 12 minutes.

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Add the eggs to your air fryer basket straight out of the fridge, so they are still cold.
  • Heat the eggs at 275 F for 17 minutes for a hard boiled egg. Heat for 15 minutes for a soft boiled egg. (Your air fryer might vary. Some recommend a lower temperature of 250 for 15-17 minutes. Do trial and error with one egg to find out what works best for your air fryer.)
  • Prepare a bowl of ice water. Once the timer goes off, carefully add the eggs directly to the ice bath. Let them sit for two minutes.
  • Feel the eggs: If there is any give and it feels soft when you gently squeeze them, they are not hard-boiled. Return them to the air fryer and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes. Peel the eggs. Cut them open to ensure doneness.
  • Serve on their own or as a part of your favorite dish. Sprinkle the eggs with salt and pepper, if desired.

I tried several different methods, this is what worked best for me. I have a 3.5 qt air fryer. Time may differ in different size air fryers. I like this method because the machine turns itself off after time is done, and I don't end up with rubber eggs. Even if I'm a little bit late getting back to them, so far all of the eggs have peeled easily after a cold water bath.
