Air Fryer Beer Brats image

Make this hearty meal that is packed with flavor in under 30 minutes! Beer brats nestled in a bun, layered with onions and peppers, sauerkraut or a simple mustard.

5 Beer Brats (bratwurst )
1 Onion (sliced, we used sweet )
1 Yellow Pepper (substitute a red or green as you like )
12 oz Beer (we used an IPA, divided )
2 tbsp Butter
Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • Slice the onion and peppers. Add butter to the skillet and turn to medium high heat.
  • Add the onions and peppers to the skillet and cook for 10-12 minutes until they are caramelized and turning brown on the edges. Resist the temptation to move the onions and peppers too much during this process.
  • Once they are toasty brown, pour in 4 oz of beer, stir, and allow it to evaporate. This took me about 5-6 minutes.
  • Marinade the brats in 8 oz of beer in a Ziplock bag for 30 minutes.
  • Heat the Air Fryer to 360 degrees and add the brats.
  • Remove the beer brats after 11-15 minutes. Turn them half way to make sure they are browning all the way around.
  • Place them in buns and layer with pepper/onion mixture, plain mustard or sauerkraut.

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup beer
1/2 cup milk
2 cups shredded Cheddar
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
2 tablespoons chopped chives
5 uncooked brats
5 brat buns

Steps:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 360 degrees.
  • Arrange brats in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for 15 minutes, turning halfway through, or until brats reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees.
  • Add the butter to a small saucepan over medium heat and let melt.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Whisk in the beer and milk until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar and paprika.
  • Place the brats in the buns and drizzle with the cheese sauce. Sprinkle with chives.

Tender, Juicy Brats can be made entirely in the Air Fryer taste just like they were made on a grill. Cooking in less than 20 minutes, you'll have perfectly cooked brats that will give that signature pop with each bite. Perfect for a rainy day or when you don't want to heat up the grill!

2 precooked brats
1/4 white or yellow onion sliced
1 bell pepper - any color
Cooking Spray
2 hot dog buns
Ketchup - optional
Barbecue Sauce - optional

Steps:

  • Place sliced onions and sliced bell peppers in foil. Spritz with oil and seal up foil to create a little packet.
  • Place foil packet in air fryer.
  • Place precooked brats into air fryer. Ensure that brats are not touching each other so they can properly cook on all sides.
  • Place air fryer basket into air fryer.
  • Cook at 350* for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from air fryer and place brats in a bun. Top with cooked onions and peppers. Add ketchup or barbecue sauce if desired.
  • Eat and enjoy!

1 cup cream cheese

Steps:

  • Add beer and brats to sauce pan.
  • Cook on medium high heat for 10-15 minutes.
  • Place brats on grill and cook until done (probably another 10-15 min).
  • With 1 cup (235 ml) of beer in the pot, add cream cheese and cheddar.
  • Stir until cheese is mixed.
  • Add the cheese mixture on top of the beer brats.

1 package uncooked bratwurst links (20 ounces)
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon dill weed

1 bottle (12 ounces) beer or nonalcoholic beer
5 slices thick bread

Steps:

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°. Place bratwurst in a single layer in a greased air fryer. Cook until no longer pink, 8-10 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook and stir until onions start to brown and soften. Add flour, dill weed and pepper; stir until smooth. Stir in beer. Bring to a boil.
