12 GAUGE SLUG BALLISTICS - HOW FAR DO THEY SHOOT? - AIMING EXPERT
A 12 gauge slug of one-ounce weight fired from a standard Federal cartridge will shoot over 300 yards. The ballistics are flat for around 200 yards and at the 300-yard mark the slug has dropped 4 feet. At 300 yards the slug is still lethal and penetrates ¾ inch plywood. The absolute maximum it can travel is probably around 1200 yards. From aimingexpert.com

I found that punt guns had up to a 4″ bore (not much in the way of standards at that time, just ‘close’ was good enough), and were up to 8 or more feet in length including their rifle/shotgun style stocks, but were huge in comparison and would obliterate most or all of a flock flying overhead with a single shot. Unless otherwise noted, these reviews carry the guns’ prices at … From docentesextraordinarios.org

SLUG GUNS: TWENTY GAUGE VS. TWELVE GAUGE: WHAT IS BETTER?
The redux of the Browning A-Bolt slug gun is in 12 gauge only, so if the A-Bolt is what you want you don't have a choice of gauge. In general, yes, the 20 gauge is the better platform for rifled slug guns for deer. That may change, though, based on future ammunition and rifle advancements. As always, the individual likes what he likes. From randywakeman.com
I’ve also never shot deer with 20 gauge slugs. If you use the standard “Foster” slug, the one with rifled spirals on the sides, it ought to work through a full choke. Those spirals aren’t really to make the slug spin in the air. They are there to give it a collapsible section when guys insist on using them in full choke guns! I don’t know about the new sabot slugs because … From shotgunreport.com

Shotgun slug ammunition is available in most of the common shotgun calibres. The simplest form of slug is a round ball (sometimes referred to in the United States as a pumpkin ball or pumpkin shot). Since it is a symmetrical projectile, it will not significantly deviate from its intended path if it begins to spin due to air pressure. However, a smooth-bored … From bevfitchett.us
