Steps:
- Place the chopped onion in a large frying pan with a splash of water and cook over a medium heat until softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for another 1 - 2 mins. You really don't want the onion or garlic to catch on the bottom of the pan so if you think it may, add another splash of water to prevent it from doing so.
- Add the mustard powder, paprika, crumbled stock cube and sweetener and mix.
- Add the passata/tomato sauce, the water and the drained beans and mix. Leave to reduce, stirring occasionally, for approx 10 minutes or until you get the desired consistency.
- Serve as you normally would baked beans!

WEIGHT WATCHER'S CABBAGE SOUP - SWEET AND SOUR
This was originally a WW recipe, from, I am guessing, the early 70s. I am pretty sure it has been altered somewhat, but it is super-easy and very tasty. We make it often in spite of its low calorie/low fat attributes ;-). My Nana always had a pot of it on the back burner because it was a "free" food, and boy, did the house smell good! Makes lots, but freezes well, also.

Steps:
- Cut up all the veggies, put everything in a very large pot, cover with water, and cook at least 3 hours, until everything is very soft.
- Taste for seasoning - judge sour and sweet separately to see weather to add more citric acid or sweetener. I usually do add plenty more of each, until it is delicious.
- Notes:.
- Don't even bother cutting the core out of the cabbage - it cooks down with everything else and will be delicious. Really.
- Measurements can be approximate. Feel free to adjust for what you like or have on hand. I know I always have a glass of the juice before pouring it into the pot ;-) Speaking of the juice, I don't remember it being part of the original recipe, but I always add it for tomatoey taste and body.
- Sometimes, my Nana added green peppers. Her recipe also mentioned to serve with "rice and veal balls", although I don't actually remember her doing this. What could be bad?.
- When I am not on a diet, I add brown sugar instead of the sweet-and-low.
- Oops - I Totally had to Estimate how many servings. But this does mostly fill my 10 quart pot, and then cook off a little, so I will est. 18 servings - your mileage will vary;-).

THE BEST SWEET & SOUR BAKED BEANS
This is my absolute favorite baked beans recipe - I didn't like them until I tasted this. It is my aunt's - a family favorite! When I can't find limas in a can, I use a frozen package. We also make this vegetarian by omitting the bacon.

WW SPICY MOLASSES BAKED BEANS - 2 PTS.
This is out of a really old Weight Watchers Magazine. Most baked beans use dried beans but this uses canned beans. It saves you hours of cooking time. This is so weird... it says it doesn't include the beans but if you look at the details it does...the recipe in the magazine shows 148 cal, Pro 7.2g, fat 0.6, Carbs 30g, Fib 3.5g

SWEET AND SOUR BAKED BEANS - WITH A KICK
When the weather turns cold, there is nothing nicer then a bowl of something hot to warm your soul. Packed with protein, loaded with flavour, and very economical. May be served as a side dish, or by itself with a hunk of fresh bread. Don't want to waste that sauce. Created for the 2010 Dining on a Dollar Contest. Update: Nov 10/10 - Based on the reviews made during the contest, I have reduced the amount of vinegar by half in the ingredient list. It certainly would be easier to add extra vinegar, then try to reduce it. If there's another 'Vinegar Freak' out there, the original amount was 3 tbsp. :) Thanks to the chefs that made and reviewed the recipe.

SWEET N SOUR BEANS
This recipe is popular on both sides of the border. It came from a friend in Alaska, then traveled with me to old Mexico, where I lived for 5 years, and is now a potluck favorite in my Arkansas community. It's easy to keep the beans warm and serve from a slow cooker. -Barbara Short, Mena, Arkansas
