Honey Almond Baked Brie image

With just three ingredients, this Honey Almond Baked Brie recipe is salty, sweet, creamy, and crunchy -- making it the perfect party food for any gathering!

1 (8 ounce) round Brie cheese
¼ cup honey
½ cup chopped roasted, salted almonds
Optional: a couple of sprigs of fresh rosemary and/or fresh thyme to infuse the honey
For serving: sliced baguette or crackers

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Place Brie on a small baking sheet. Bake about 10-12 minutes or until softened. Remove and let cool for about 5 minutes.
  • While the cheese cools, place honey and a couple of sprigs of herbs (if desired) in a small saucepan over low heat until warm; stir in chopped almonds.
  • Spoon honey mixture over the Brie; garnish with additional herbs, if desired. Serve immediately.

Steps:

  • Place Brie in an small ungreased cast-iron skillet or shallow 1-qt. baking dish. Combine the butter, almonds and, if desired, brandy; pour over Brie. , Bake, uncovered, at 400° until cheese is softened, 10-12 minutes. Serve with crackers or vegetables.

1/2 cup 2 ounces slivered almonds
1 wheel (13.3 ounces ripe Brie, box reserved, top rind sliced off, cheese chilled)
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp. balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp. finely chopped fresh rosemary
1 package (6 ounces or 1 1/4 cups Driscoll's Raspberries)
Water crackers or baguette slices for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350?F.
  • Spread the almonds on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake, stirring occasionally, until lightly toasted and fragrant, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
  • Place Brie, in its box, on baking sheet. Bake until warm and the top is softened, but not until cheese is oozing, about 15 minutes.
  • Remove all box/packaging and transfer cheese to serving platter.
  • Stir honey, vinegar, and rosemary in a medium skillet over medium heat just until warm. Add raspberries and almonds and gently fold in with a rubber spatula.
  • Pour raspberry mixture over warm cheese. Serve at once, with the crackers for spreading.

I've never tried this recipe, but can't wait to, and don't want to lose this recipe. Sounds good, and an easy way to start using planks. Be sure to soak the planks in liquid for 1 hour prior to cooking.

1 cedar plank (15-inchx1/2-inch)
1 pint fresh raspberry
2 tablespoons slivered almonds
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
fresh coarse ground black pepper, to taste
4 tablespoons honey
5 -6 ounces camembert cheese or 5 -6 ounces cambozola cheese, 5-6 oz
1 -2 fresh French baguette, sliced

Steps:

  • Soak the cedar plank in cold water for a minimum of 1 hour.
  • Preheat grill to medium heat, about 400*F.
  • In a small bowl, combine raspberries, slivered almonds and fresh thyme, and season to taste with black pepper. Drizzle with honey and gently mix to combine.
  • Remove plank from water. Place wheels of Brie on plank, evenly spaced.
  • Top each wheel with half of the raspberry honey mixture.
  • Place plank on grill and close lid. Plank cheese for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is golden brown and slightly puffy, topping is hot and almonds are light golden brown. Remove plank from grill and allow to cool for 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve immediately with fresh sliced baguette, a few big spoons, and lots of napkins!
  • Other options to top cheese are grilled mushrooms, fruit salsa, and tomato bruschetta.

Baked nectarines & raspberries with almonds & honey image

One of the simplest ways to showcase summer fruit, this dessert is finished with a crunchy amaretti biscuit and flaked almond topping

125ml white wine
2 tbsp clear honey
4 ripe yellow-fleshed nectarines
100g crunchy amaretti biscuits
1 large egg yolk
1 tbsp toasted flaked almonds
1 tbsp golden caster sugar
1 tbsp butter
1 vanilla pod , split and seeds loosened
175g raspberries
clotted cream or thick Jersey cream, to serve

Steps:

  • Mix the wine and honey, and stir to dissolve. Halve and stone the nectarines, and place them, flesh-side up, in a medium ceramic baking dish. Crush the biscuits well, then add the yolk, 2 tbsp of the wine mixture and the flaked almonds. Mix together, then spoon into the nectarines where the stones were. Use all of the mixture.
  • Scatter the sugar over the nectarines, then top each mound of biscuit mixture with a little knob of butter. Pour the remaining wine and honey around - but not over - the fruit, add 1 tbsp water, then tuck in the vanilla pod. Can now be chilled for up to 4 hrs.
  • Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Bake the nectarines for 30 mins until the fruit is soft and the biscuit filling is crisp and golden. Carefully stir the raspberries through the pan juices, then leave to cool for 15 mins before serving with cream.

  • While the oven is preheating, toast the almonds in a dry frying pan on the stove top. If you have never done this, please go watch a few videos on YouTube. It is a simple thing - but the almonds will burn in the flash of an eye. You have to watch them and flip them pretty continuously.
  • Also while waiting for the oven to preheat, make the sauce by combining the Jam, Honey and Balsamic Vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat on the stove top. Heat until the jam and honey melt. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  • Unwrap the Brie and place it on a sheet pan - wrinkled side down. Place on the middle rack in the oven. Bake for 5-8 minutes.
