WALTER SANDS BASIC WHITE BREAD, BREAD MACHINE VERSION
This is the best white bread recipe I have ever made. It easily converts itself to rolls, cinnamon raisin swirl bread, whatever. My family really likes it. I know yours will, too. Copied directly from the King Arthur flour website

Steps:
- Put everything in the bread maker in the above order. I choose the dough setting, as I don't like to bake my bread in it. Let rise until doubled, it may take longer than the time allotted by the machine. Remove, form, put in a 9x5' bread pan. Cover with a damp towel or oiled cling wrap and let rise until it is an in to an inch and a half over the rim of the pan, about an hour.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes, rotating halfway through for even browning. Remove, turn out, let cool completely on a wire rack and offer to a friend.
- One footnote; I like to use hi-maize natural fiber as part of the flour, 1/3 cup, it makes white bread healthier, and you don't even know it is there!

BASIC WHITE BREAD MACHINE RECIPE
This Basic White Bread for your bread machine is both delicious and extremely easy to make! Using all-purpose flour. It's a favorite for all and you'll make a perfect loaf on every try!

- Pour in ALL your ingredients by order into the bread machine.
- Close the lid, choose your settings. I do a 2 lb loaf, basic loaf, light or medium crust. And then click start.
- After the bread is all done, carefully remove the pan from the machine and leave on the counter for 10 minutes. To get the bread out, carefully shake it and place in a storage container or bag.
- Serve warm or cold, do as you wish. Just store it properly for freshness and so it doesn't go stale quickly. It last about 3-4 days stored in a cloth bag in a dark area of your kitchen or pantry.

I think I found this recipe somewhere on the Internet but can't remember what site it was on. I used to live in California and this drink was served at the Red Robin Restaurant. I don't know if this is authentic but sure tastes like it.

- (Note: I did this in my stand mixer.) Pour the warm water into a mixing bowl. Add the sugar or honey and then the yeast.
- When the yeast is bubbling, add the butter, the dry milk, the salt and most of the flour: I did 4 cups (510 g) all-purpose flour and 1 cup whole wheat flour (128 g) to start. Using the dough hook, knead the dough until it begins pulling away from the sides of the bowl and clings to the hook, about 8 minutes total. During this kneading time I added about another cup (128 g) of all-purpose flour (I didn’t really measure, just added handfuls until the dough looked right). At the very end, when the dough began clinging to the hook, I added in about 1/4 cup of millet, but I definitely could have added more. Sesame seeds, poppy seeds, oats would all be nice additions, too.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, turn it over to coat all sides, and cover the bowl. Let it rise in a draft-free place until doubled, 1 to 2 hours. Deflate the dough, and divide it in half. Form into loaves — see Katie’s post for instructions re “head-and-shoulders” shaping method — and place in well-greased 8 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ loaf pans. Let rise until the dough domes an inch above the rim of the pans, another hour or so.
- After the dough has been rising for 30 minutes, preheat the oven to 350°F. When the loaves are sufficiently risen, bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until nicely browned. Remove from the oven and tip the breads out of their pans. Place on a rack to cool completely before slicing.
