HEALTHY LOW CALORIE BROWNIES

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 Cup (60g) white whole wheat flour
1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
1/4 Tsp Baking Soda
1/4 Tsp Salt
1/3 Cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
Just less than 1/2 Cup (168g) of honey
1/2 Cup (121g) unsweetened apple sauce
2 Tbsps (28g) coconut oil
1/2 Tsp vanilla extract
1 Egg

Steps:

  • In a microwavable safe bowl add the honey
  • Microwave 30-45 sec (or until liquid-y)
  • Now add in the unsweetened cocoa powder and mix until combined
  • Set that bowl aside and get out a larger bowl for your dry ingredients
  • Add all dry ingredients to the bowl and combine well
  • Set that bowl aside and bring back your honey mixture
  • Add the rest of your wet ingredients to the honey mixture and mix until smooth and chocolatey
  • Now pour the wet ingredients into the dry and combine all of the ingredients until smooth
  • In an 8x8 baking tray add your batter and bake at 350 degrees | 177 Celsius for around 25 minutes
  • Cool in the tray for about 5 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling

3/4 cup nonfat greek yogurt (I used Fage 0%)
1/4 cup skim milk
1/2 cup Cocoa powder
1/2 cup Old fashioned rolled oats (like Quaker)
1/2 cup Truvia Baking Blend (or any natural/stevia based sweetener that pours like sugar)
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a square baking dish (I used 8″x8″).
  • Combine all ingredients into a food processor or a blender, and blend until smooth (about 1 minute).
  • Pour into the prepared dish and bake for about 15 minutes. Allow to cool completely before cutting into 9 large squares. YAHM.

1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup dry milk powder (non-fat)
1 egg white (slightly beaten)
1 cup applesauce (unsweetened)
1 teaspoon vanilla
Optional: 1 teaspoon powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. Lightly coat an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan with cooking spray and then set it aside.
  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, unsweetened cocoa , salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon until well mixed, then set the bowl aside.
  • In a medium bowl, beat together the sugar, brown sugar, non-fat dry milk powder, egg white, applesauce, and vanilla with a spoon until well combined.​
  • Stir the wet mixture into the dry mixture, mixing just until the ingredients are well moistened. Do not overmix.
  • Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake in the oven for 22 to 23 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of your brownies comes out clean.
  • Cool on a wire rack.
  • If you're not planning on frosting your brownies, you can give them a light dusting with powdered sugar, if you'd like. Enjoy!

1 tablespoon unbleached flour
1/4 cup oat bran
1/3 cup cocoa powder
3/4 cup sugar (I'm sure you could use splenda)
1/4 cup instant non-fat powdered milk
1 pinch baking soda
1/4 cup chocolate syrup (if you use the walden farms stuff, its even less cals)
3 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 chopped walnuts (optinal, more cals)

Steps:

  • Combine flour, oat bran, sugar, cocoa, milk powder and baking soda in a large bowl; mix well.
  • Stir in the chocolate syrup, egg whites and vanilla extract.
  • Fold in nuts if desired. Cover an 8"x8" pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Spread batter in pan evenly and bake a 325 degrees for 23 minutes or just until edges are firm and the middle is almost set.
  • Cool to room temperature.
  • Cut into 16 2" squares.

2 tablespoons becel margarine
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar (I use Splenda)
1 egg
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Spray an 8 inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Dust with cocoa, shaking out excess.
  • In a small saucepan, melt margarine on low heat.
  • Remove from heat and stir in cocoa, sugar, egg, applesauce and vanilla, beating until smooth.
  • Gently stir in flour, baking soda and salt until well combined.
  • Pour into prepared pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until set.
  • Cool completely and cut in 16 squares with hot wet knife.
  • Store in the refrigerator.
