UNITED CAKE OF AMERICA



United Cake of America image

First made on August 6, 2004 for church lunch the next day. I actually just put it all in one pan and marbled it. I don't like whipped cream as an icing so I used 'Snow Peak Frosting' instead. The jello gelatin gives the cake a nice fruity flavor. I have no clue where I got this recipe! :-)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1.5 (18 1/4 ounce) packages white cake mix
3 egg whites (or as called for by your cake mix)
1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
1 (3 ounce) package cherry gelatin
1 (3 ounce) package blueberry gelatin
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease and flour 3 (8-9 inch) round cake pans.
  • Line with parchment paper or waxed paper.
  • Prepare cake mix according to pkg.
  • Directions, halving ingredients for half package.
  • Divide batter among three bowls.
  • Beat cherry gelatin into 1 portion.
  • Beat blueberry gelatin into another portion.
  • Pour batter into prepared pans.
  • Bake for 28 to 30 minutes, or until done.
  • Cool in pans for 15.
  • Remove from pans and cool on wire racks.
  • To assemble, place blueberry cake layer on cake plate.
  • Spread whipped topping over top.
  • Place white cake layer on top.
  • Spread whipped topping over top.
  • Place cherry cake layer on top.
  • Frost top and sides with remaining whipped topping.
  • Chill until serving time.
