HOT CRAB DIP APPETIZER

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Beat cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Stir in the crabmeat, minced onion, lemon juice and Tabasco sauce. Spoon mixture into a small oven-proof dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly. Serve with crackers, potato chips or tortilla chips. You can also use fresh crabmeat in place of the canned crabmeat.

FANTASTIC CRAB DIP
This recipe can be served hot or cold with a variety of different crackers or bread. It can be placed in a loaf of hollowed out sourdough bread; the bread can be used for dipping. Don't heat dip when in the bread; bread will become soggy. Heat the dip, and then fill bread.

- In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese until soft and smooth. Blend in lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Mix in garlic, onions, and crab meat. Store, covered, in refrigerator until ready to use.
- To serve warm, heat in microwave for 3 to 4 minutes.

Steps:
- Spray a small slow cooker with vegetable cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, seasoned salt, and worchestshire sauce, and mix well with a fork.
- Stir in sherry, onions, and crabmeat and spoon into slow cooker.
- Cover, and cook on Low for 1 1/2 -2 hours and stir once half way through.
MRS. BARBARA'S CURRY CRAB DIP
My mom's good friend Mrs. Barbara would always make this delicious crab dip for holidays and gatherings. She passed away over 15 years ago and I didn't think my mom had gotten the recipe from her before she died, but I found out this weekend that she had!! Can't wait to make this and remember all the good times we had with such a great lady.

- If you didn't pick the crab meat out of the crab yourself then I'd recommend going through it and picking out shells -- there are always a ton in the prepackaged stuff.
- Combine all ingredients thoroughly and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Serve with your favorite crackers, crusty bread, bagel chips, pita chips, etc.

I came across this dip in an old Taste of Home magazine. It was easy to make. Took it to a gathering and every one enjoyed it.

- Preheat the oven to 325˚F (160˚C).
- Melt the butter in a medium pan over medium-low heat. Add the onion, garlic, and salt. Cook for 12-15 minutes, until the onions are caramelized. Remove from heat and transfer to a small bowl to cool completely.
- Using a fine-mesh strainer, drain crab meat over a bowl.
- In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, hot sauce, Old Bay, and lemon juice. Using an electric mixer, beat together until well combined. With a flexible spatula, fold in the onion mixture, ¾ cup (75 grams) cheddar cheese, and the crab meat.
- Transfer the dip to a 1-quart baking dish. Top evenly with the remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the mixture is just beginning to bubble around the edges and the cheese is melted.
- Heat the broiler to low. Broil dip for 3 minutes, until the whole surface is bubbling and browned. Remove the dip from the oven. Let cool for at least 15 minutes, until set.
- Garnish the dip with Old Bay and chives. Serve with carrot sticks, celery sticks, crackers, and crostini.
