Uber Bouillon Beef Food

No drippings are needed for this very simple and super quick homemade brown gravy that's perfect for mashed potatoes, meatloaf or even French fries. You'll never use packet gravy again.

Ingredients

2 cups beef stock
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 beef bouillon cube, crushed
1 tablespoon heavy cream

Steps:

Whisk together the beef stock, cornstarch, onion powder, soy sauce and bouillon cube in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, whisking occasionally, and cook until slightly thickened, about 1 minute. Turn off the heat and whisk in the heavy cream.

What a find! For dietary reasons, using purchased bouillon cubes are not an option for me. This is from Angela Papaiz who contributed to the Brazilian Children's Fund Cookbook. Prep time depends on how fast you chop. LOL I will over estimate on my timing.

Ingredients

3 cups celery, minced
3 cups carrots, minced
2 onions, minced
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 lb ground beef

Steps:

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan without any liquid.
Cook over very low heat, covered, for 1 hour.
Place contents into a blender or food processor and process until smooth.
Pour into ice cube trays and freeze.
Use a cube of bouillon to enhance the flavor of gravy or soup.

1 cup water
1 teaspoon tones chicken base
2 -3 drops sherry wine
1 pinch parsley
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash celery seed
1 dash thyme

Steps:

Stir together in a large, microwavable mug.
Microwave on high 3-4 minutes so that it simmers in the cup but does not boil over.
Let sit 2 minutes. Taste and dilute slightly if too strong.
