I was babysitting a friend's baby one day and she brought me some of these for a reward. I insisted on the recipe and here it is. These freeze very well, too, if you have them that long.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla until very fluffy.
  • Sift together dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture.
  • Add chocolate chips.
  • Refrigerate til well chilled.
  • Drop from teaspoon 2" apart onto a cool greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
  • If I'm in a hurry, I omit putting the dough in the fridge to chill. Still comes out fine.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup stick margarine, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, optional

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter, margarine and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, pudding mix and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans if desired. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 1 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets; flatten slightly with a glass. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks. Yield: 5 dozen.

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon milk
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup crushed sugar-frosted corn flake cereal
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Stir together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the margarine, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla, vegetable oil and milk. Blend in the flour mixture before stirring in the oats, frosted corn flakes and chocolate chips. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

6 tablespoons butter, softened
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. , Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 11-14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks.

M&M cookies, but we call them the chocolate chipper champs because these beat regular chocolate chip cookies any day. You can subsitute the mini M&M candies for the larger M&M candies. You can also make this into bars or one giant cookie. Have fun.
