A unique sweet and salty snack perfect for holiday gift giving.

12 Original Triscuit crackers
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup white chocolate chips, (optional)
1 tbsp sea salt or vanilla sugar, (optional)

Steps:

  • Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In microwave or small double boiler, use low to medium heat to melt semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring occasionally until smooth.
  • Dip crackers into chocolate and place on parchment paper. When all crackers have been dipped, sprinkle with salt or sugar if desired and place in fridge to set.
  • Alternatively, chill crackers for approximately five minutes. Melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over crackers.

1 1/2 boxes original Triscuit Crackers
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 cups milk or dark chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet with foil. Line baking sheet with Triscuit Crackers in single layer, making sure cracker edges touch.
  • In small saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar - bring to boil and boil for 2-3 minutes. Pour caramel mixture over Triscuit Crackers making sure all are covered evenly.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until sauce bubbles over surface. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Put back in oven 1 minute to melt chips. Remove from oven and spread chocolate evenly over Triscuit Crackers with spatula. Let cool completely in refrigerator and break into squares. Once cool, store in airtight container.

I had these sweet and salty saltines covered with chocolate and topped with nuts which I tweaked at a friend's house. Very addictive little treats.Use topping to suit the occasion.

40 saltine crackers
1 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
12 ounces mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup toffee pieces
1 tablespoon candy sprinkles (to garnish) (optional)
1/4 cup raisins (optional)
1/4-1/2 cup crushed mint, candy cane optional for christmas

Steps:

  • Arrange 40 saltine crackers on a non-stick foil in a jelly roll pan.
  • Melt butter and brown sugar in pan and boil 3 minutes.
  • Pour over crackers.
  • Bake at 350°F for 5 minutes.
  • Pour chocolate chips over and let stand 5 minutes to melt.
  • Spread around with knife and then sprinkle nuts and toffee bits over top and or raisins.
  • Garnish with colored sprinkles.
  • Place in refrigerator until hard.
  • Break into bite-size pieces.
