FAMILY FAVORITE SALAD WITH HOMEMADE RANCH DRESSING AND CROUTONS
Steps:
- In a chilled salad bowl, add the greens and lightly coat the inside of the bowl with Ranch Dressing. Add the Croutons and toss lightly. Garnish with the tomatoes, avocado and bacon, serve immediately.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ingredients and blend well with fork or stick blender. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients, except the bread, until well combined. Adjust the seasoning, if needed. Add in the bread and mix well with your hands, tossing to coat all sides of cubes. Pour out onto a baking sheet and spread evenly. Bake in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes, turning after 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool. Store in an airtight container.

This ranch dressing is great because it doesn't have all the chemicals and preservatives that many do. You can also use buttermilk in place of the sour cream, if you like.

RANCH DRESSING FROM SCRATCH
Once you make this simple dressing you will never buy another bottle of the stuff. This is far superior even to the name brand. From hillbillyhousewife.com. I always use buttermilk but yogurt is ok too.

Steps:
- Get out a medium sized bowl.
- Measure the mayonnaise into it.
- Gradually whisk in the buttermilk or yogurt.
- If you use powdered buttermilk, whisk in the powder first, and then slowly add a cup of water.
- Then add the seasonings. Whisk again.
- Or you can make it in the blender by putting everything into the blender and whirling until smooth.
- The mixture will be a little thin, but it will thicken on standing. Store in a pint size jar, makes 2-cups.
- Keep in the refrigerator for a few weeks. Tastes really good with yogurt by the way. This is my favorite way of making it. It tastes good with powdered buttermilk too, but the consistency is thinner than with yogurt.
- Note: If desired, you may add a tablespoon of Parmesan Cheese and/or a tablespoon of lemon juice to the dressing in addition to the seasonings above.

THE BEST SKINNY RANCH DRESSING (3 INGREDIENTS)
I'm so excited to share this 3 ingredient dressing! Your search is over...This is the most amazing, easy-to-make, gluten-free, skinny ranch dressing!!! It tastes just as good as any high-fat dressing but with a fraction of the fat and calories. In the past, I've shared my skinny ranch dressing recipe but it called for many dry ingredients. In addition, you needed xanthan gum to thicken it. I got back in the kitchen and created a new, easier, and much skinnier recipe. Each 2 tablespoons serving has just 30 calories, 2 grams of fat. So delicious as a dressing, dip, topping for potatoes, and more. The possibilities are endless. I always have some on hand in my refrigerator. It's a must-try!!!

17 STORE-BOUGHT RANCH DRESSINGS, RANKED WORST TO BEST

Author Korey Lane
- Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch. The Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch is the best store-bought ranch dressing on the market, hands down. The addition of the buttermilk gives it that homemade taste, and also brings out the flavors of the ranch so much more than the original version.
- Olive Garden Parmesan Ranch Dressing. The Olive Garden Parmesan Ranch Dressing isn't your typical ranch dressing, as the name would imply. But it is seriously delicious.
- Bolthouse Farms Classic Ranch Yogurt Dressing. Anyone who consumes ranch dressing on a regular or semi-regular basis knows that it's not exactly the healthiest salad dressing out there.
- Hidden Valley Ranch. Hidden Valley Ranch is probably the most well-known and classic store-bought ranch out there. And honestly, there's a reason for that.
- Litehouse Homestyle Ranch Dressing. Between all the typical brands of ranch dressing found in the grocery store, there's one you might have missed. The Litehouse Homestyle Ranch Dressing might just surprise you.
- Kraft Classic Ranch Dressing. When you think of Kraft products, you probably think of their mac and cheese, but don't skip over their salad dressings — specifically their ranch.
- Tuscan Garden Ranch Dressing. Anyone who shops at Aldi knows the grocery store is a great place to go when looking for a deal. And with their own store brand of just about everything, you can save a ton of money.
- Ken's Steak House Ranch Dressing. To be honest, you've probably not really heard or paid much attention to the Ken's Steak House brand. It's fairly low-key, but the brand makes a ton of salad dressings and marinades, and that includes their own version of ranch dressing, something you probably have skipped over at the grocery store.
- Marzetti Simply Dressed Ranch Dressing. The Marzetti Simply Dressed Ranch Dressing is another decent offering if you're looking for a healthier alternative to regular ranch.
- Simply Balanced Organic Ranch Dressing. In the same way that the Trader Joe's and Whole Food's store brands of ranch dressing aren't anything to write home about, so is the Target version.

- First you want to run the garlic through a garlic press. Then place it in a bowl, and mash it with a fork to really break it up. You don't want the dressing to have chunky garlic.
- Whisk together. Then add buttermilk until the dressing has reached the thickness you like. You can opt to add more garlic or dill to taste.
