ASIAN BBQ SAUCE



Asian BBQ Sauce image

Fresh ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and green onions give an all-purpose topping a flavorful Asian bbq sauce twist.

2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoon ginger (fresh and grated)
1/2 cup green onions (minced)
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil

Steps:

  • Whisk the ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, vinegar, ginger, green onions , cayenne, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, and remove the pan from the heat.
  • Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then use toward the end of barbecuing, applying the sauce with a basting brush and serving extra sauce on the side.

These are deliscious and so easy to make. I would not use any of those really sweet BBQ sauce, any smoky or spicy BBQ sauce should be fine. I sometime use half apple juice and half pineapple juice.

6 -8 boneless pork chops
1 cup barbecue sauce (your favourite, I use bull's eye)
20 ounces pineapple juice
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
1/4 cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • In a larege resealable plastic bag place BBQ sauce, pineapple juice, worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and brown sugar; mix well.
  • Add pork chops.
  • Marinate pork chops for 24 hours in refrigerator.
  • Remove chops from marinade
  • On medium high heat, grill chops on each side for about 6 minutes or until done. Baste chops with sauce while grilling.

8 cups catsup
2 cups sugar
1 cup cider vinegar
1 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup water
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
2 tablespoons onion salt
1 tablespoon granulated garlic
2 tablespoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a large cooking pot.
  • Bring to a simmer and allow to cook at a very low boil for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Can be refrigerated until ready for use.

1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup medium diced onions
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons garlic salt
2 teaspoons paprika
3 cups ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup English mustard
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • In a large pot, melt half of the butter on medium heat. Add the onions and sweat until the onions are translucent, 3 minutes. Add the chili powder, garlic salt and paprika, and saute for 2 minutes. Add the ketchup, molasses, honey, mustard, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Bring the sauce to a boil then reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Transfer the sauce to a blender or use an immersion blender and blitz, leaving some texture to the sauce. Fold in the remaining butter.

1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
3 Tablespoons Yellow Mustard
1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tablespoon Texas Pete Hot Sauce
1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika

Steps:

  • Place ketchup in a large sauce pot.
  • Add the brown sugar.
  • Add the yellow mustard.
  • Add the Worcestershire Sauce
  • Add the Texas Pete
  • Add the vinegar.
  • Add the Garlic Powder.
  • Add the Onion Powder.
  • Add the liquid smoke.
  • Add the smoked paprika.
  • Place sauce pot over Medium heat on stove top.
  • Stir ingredients together to dissolve sugar.
  • Reduce heat to Medium-Low.
  • Simmer 10 minutes. Remove. Let Cool.
  • Enjoy!
