**sraracha sauce
**brown sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Peel and slice potatoes into french fry size. Place in bowl and drizzle sriracha sauce over and rub well to completely coat potatoes.
  • 2. I made one potato and used a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar, use as much or little as you like. You can also add salt or black pepper if desired. Rub sugar onto potatoes.
  • 3. Place on greased baking sheet, you will probably want to use foil under the potatoes for easier clean up.
  • 4. Bake at 375° for 15 min, then flip and bake another 10-15.

BROWN SUGAR & SPICE SWEET POTATO FRIES

Brown Sugar & Spice Sweet Potato Fries image

After perusing the internet for a good sweet potato fry, I finally gave up and decided to just wing it myself. Boy am I glad I didn't chicken out and just went for it! These are not a crispy fry, but highly, warning!, HIGHLY addictive! Haha!! They were even awesome after we had eaten and were cleaning up. We couldn't stay out of...

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 medium-sized sweet potatoes, *not yams!* (unpeeled)
3 tbl. canola oil, more if needed
1 Tbl. dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt, i use "johnny's"
1/2 tsp. coarse ground pepper
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. paprika

Steps:

  • 1. *You can tell if they are actual sweet potatoes because at least one end, sometimes both, will have a sharp point, (not rounded like russets.) They also usually come individually wrapped and say that they are sweet potatoes. They are very sweet compared to yams, hence their name. Hope that helps!
  • 2. Preheat oven to 425. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray well with butter-flavored cooking spray. Unwrap potatoes and rinse off with cool water. With sharp long knife, trim off woody pointed ends, then cut potatoes in half lengthwise and set cut-side down for easy and stable cutting of the rest as they are very hard and a bit difficult to cut. Continue cutting into wedges or french fries. I cut mine into about a 1/2" square around. *Baking time will depend on size so keep that in mind. Place fries onto prepared pan and drizzle with oil. Toss to coat. EVENLY sprinkle with rest of ingredients. Toss again WELL to mix and evenly disperse seasonings scootching potatoes across the surface to incorporate all of the ingredients. Spread out in a single layer with any of the skin sides facing upwards. Pop into oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, turn each one with tongs, pop back into oven and bake another 10 minutes. Remove from oven leaving door open and turn oven down to LOW (200 degrees), loosen fries from foil a bit and pop back in until ready to serve. Mine were in there for another 10 minutes while I finished preparing other dinner items. *They can also sit out further for a bit, too, so no worries that they have to be piping hot to serve. Warm was just as good if not better!

BACON WITH SRIRACHA AND BROWN SUGAR

Bacon With Sriracha and Brown Sugar image

See my explanation for my new-found lusting for sriracha chili sauce here... Recipe #431929 . Sweet, salty and hot! (Serving Suggestion: Crumble over salads.)

Provided by gailanng

Categories     Breakfast

Time 30m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

8 slices bacon
sriracha hot chili sauce
brown sugar, a generous amount

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On a foil lined baking sheet arrange the eight strips of bacon in a single layer. Squeeze a thin ribbon of Sriracha down the center of each strip of bacon. Use a pastry brush to spread and coat the entire top surface of the bacon with the hot sauce.
  • Sprinkle the top of each piece of bacon with a generous portion of brown sugar (don't skimp). Place in the oven and cook to your desired bacon doneness, about 20 to 25 minutes. The crispier, the better. Place on paper napkins to drain.
