If you like whiskey, you'll love this bourbon BBQ sauce. It's perfectly sweet, a little smoky, and generously flavored with bourbon. Bonus that it takes only 25 minutes to make and is easily made refined sugar-free.

- Place all the ingredients into a small pot over medium-high heat. Stir well then bring the pot to a boil. Reduce the heat so that it bubbles gently and continue to cook (with the lid off) for 15 minutes, or until the sauce reduces to about 1 ¾ cups.
- Store for up to 2 weeks in your fridge or up to 3 months in your freezer.

EASY HOMEMADE CHERRY BOURBON BARBECUE SAUCE RECIPE
This is a super easy homemade BBQ sauce that is perfect for using fresh cherries and a bit of bourbon. This sauce is excellent on chicken!

Steps:
- Heat oil in pan and sauté onions and garlic for three to four minutes. The onions should turn transluscent.
- Add honey, brown sugar and ketchup and heat to a boil. Continue to stir.
- Add bourbon slowly.
- Add cherries and cook on medium heat for 15 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and allow to fully cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
- Add the sauce to a blender or food processor and mix well. Make sure to let it cool before attempting to blend.
- Pour into jars to serve.

- Gather the ingredients.
- Heat oil in a saucepan. Add garlic and cook for 15 to 20 seconds until it becomes fragrant.
- Add ketchup and maple syrup, cider vinegar, and bourbon. Simmer over low heat for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often.
- Add Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 3 to 4 more minutes. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool for 5 to 10 minutes before using. Use sauce as a baste while meat is on the grill or serve on the side once grilled meat is plated.

- 1. In a med. saucepan, cook the onion and garlic in hot oil over med. heat for about 5 min. or until onion is tender.
- 2. Stir in cherries, bourbon, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, molasses, cider vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- 3. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for about 30 min. or until the mixture reaches the desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
- 4. Brush the sauce on beef, pork, or poultry during the last 10 min. of grilling.
CHERRY BOMB BARBECUE SAUCE
Though barbecue is my cooking passion, I'm not really much of a believer in barbecue sauce. When I make barbecue, I prefer to let the smoke do the talking, not the sauce. But this cherry-based sauce I concocted is pretty darn good - and pretty hot.

- In a heavy saucepan, saute onion in oil until caramelized. Add cherry juice, vinegar, chipotle peppers two packages of dried cherries, garlic, paprika and pickled cherry peppers. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer until chipotle peppers are completely softened, at least 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool. In a food processor, puree this mixture together with the remaining two packages of dried cherries, the tomato paste, roasted red peppers and cherry preserves until smooth.
- Push puree through a fine mesh strainer into a saucepan. Add sugar and salt to taste. Add whiskey. Return to stove and bring back to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for another 20 minutes or so. Adjust salt and sugar.

- Heat the olive oil in a sauté pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the onions and let it cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger and stir for one minute. Add the chili powder and cayenne pepper and stir for 30 seconds. Mix in the tomato paste, tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, pear juice, salt, and cherries. Stir until everything is incorporated.
- Cook uncovered until the sauce thickens, about 13 to 15 minutes. The sauce should be bubbling wildly. Reduce the heat a little, add the bourbon and stir. Cook for another minute or two, and turn off the heat.
- Let the sauce cool for about 10 minutes before putting it in a food processor or high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.
