Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken - CRAZY good!! Chicken marinated in an easy dry rub and grilled. Ready for the grill in 30 minutes! Brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt and chicken. We LOVE this chicken! SO much flavor!!! Great in wraps and on top of a salad too!! One of our favorite chicken recipes.

½ cup brown sugar, (packed)
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp seasoned salt
½ tsp garlic powder
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

Steps:

  • Combine brown sugar, chili powder, seasoned salt and garlic powder.
  • Place chicken in a gallon ziplock bag and add brown sugar mix.
  • Seal bag and rub brown sugar mixture into chicken. Refrigerate 30 minutes to overnight.
  • Remove chicken from ziplock bag and grill until done, approximately 6 minutes per side.

2 teaspoons onion powder
1-1/2 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Combine the first five ingredients; rub over chicken. Moisten a paper towel with cooking oil; using long-handled tongs, rub on grill rack to coat lightly., Grill chicken, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 165°.

1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. olive oil, divided
4 small boneless skinless chicken breasts (1 lb.)
1/2 red onion, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
1/4 cup HEINZ BBQ Sauce Classic Sweet & Thick, divided
6 cups tortilla chips (6 oz.)
1/4 cup drained pickled jalapeño slices, chopped
1 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Steps:

  • Mix lemon juice and 2 Tbsp. oil until blended. Drizzle over chicken in shallow dish. Refrigerate 30 min.
  • Heat grill to medium heat. Remove chicken from lemon juice mixture; discard lemon juice mixture. Brush both sides of onions evenly with remaining oil.
  • Grill chicken and onions 10 min. or until onions are tender, turning onions after 5 min. Remove onions from grill. Turn chicken; brush with 2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce. Grill 3 to 5 min. or until done (165ºF).
  • Chop onions and chicken coarsely. Place chicken in medium bowl; toss with remaining barbecue sauce.
  • Spread chips onto bottom of disposable 13x9-inch foil pan sprayed with cooking spray; top with chicken, onions, peppers and cheese. Cover with foil. Place pan on grill grate; grill 3 to 5 min. or until cheese is melted.

The sauce for this chicken has such an explosion of flavors--you'll want to lick the plate when you are done. It's sweet, sour, spicy and savory--and it has a bit of a kick. You will end up with nearly 3 cups of sauce, but trust me--you will want all of it.

2 1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons oil
1/4 cup vinegar
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup chopped onions or 2 tablespoons onion powder
2 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
1 garlic cloves or 1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 -3 lbs chicken parts (with skin or without skin, it is up to you)

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except for the chicken and bring to a rolling boil. Remove from the heat and cool. Refrigerate sauce overnight to blend flavors.
  • Heat a grill to medium-high heat.
  • Apply sauce to chicken (I spoon it on). Grill to desired doneness, applying sauce liberally as you turn chicken. Cook until done through.
  • If you don't contaminate the sauce with the raw chicken, you can serve it with the cooked chicken. If it gets contaminated, simmer it on the stove for a few minutes.

Chicken sweetened with honey and kicked up with Chipotles in abobo sauce for added smokness. Serve over a bed of greens, a bed of rice, in a wrap, or with any favorite summer salad. Tenderizing Chicken Breasts in this method keeps the meat from sticking and tearing, plus there is no mess. Wet the inside of a gallon freezer bag with a little water or oil. Place one or two (depending on size) boneless, skinless chicken breasts inside the bag - seal part way. Lay the bag on a work surface and pound the meat to the desired thickness.

1 bunch scallion (about 6 sliced)
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 lime, juice and zest of

Steps:

  • Place marinade in ziplock bag massage to mix together then add chicken.
  • Chill for 1-4 hours.

This is a rather guessed out recipe. There is a restaurant near my house called Hector and Jimmy's where they make The Super Chicken Nacho which takes up about 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet and serves about 4 people...So I figured I'd take my best shot at it with a few modifications of my own.

1 -2 lb chicken breast, if you like a lot of meat use 2 (Can use ground beef too, directions are the same)
1 (1 1/2 ounce) package Ortega taco seasoning
1 (15 ounce) bag tostitos restaurant style corn chips
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 (8 ounce) bag of shredded cheddar cheese
2/3 cup water
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper (optional)
8 ounces sour cream (optional)
16 ounces salsa (optional)
6 ounces shredded lettuce (optional)
4 ounces sliced olives (optional)

Steps:

  • Pour the 2 tablespoons vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat on medium heat for 2 minutes or until pan is warm.
  • Add Chicken breasts to pan and add salt and pepper to your taste, cook chicken thoroughly so there is no pink in the middle of the breast.
  • Once the chicken is thoroughly cooked preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Remove the chicken from the pan and cut the breasts into very small chunks.
  • Optional Step: Once they are in small chunks if you want a better appearances, take to forks and stick the tines of one fork into the the other fork so they form an X shape over each piece of chicken and then spread the forks apart, this should basically'shred' the chicken into tiny little strips.
  • Once your chicken is cut/shredded place the chicken back into the frying pan (still on medium) and let it warm again, once the pan is warm stir in the package of taco seasoning with 2/3 cups of water (as directed by the package).
  • If you like hot nachos, put in some cayenne pepper (to taste) as well, careful though, it gets spicy quick.
  • While the excess water is boiling off of the pan layer a cookie sheet with Tostitos (I also put a layer of aluminum foil under the chips so that all the extra melted cheese doesn't stick to the pan and create a huge hassle to clean later).
  • Once your pan is layered with chips, spread half the bag of chedder cheese onto the chips.
  • Now take the chicken out of the pan and layer it over the chips evenly.
  • Next put the rest of the bag of cheese over the nachos.
  • Now place this in the oven for up to 10 minutes, it might take less, just take it out when the cheese is melted.
  • Now feel free to add whatever you like to your nachos, in my case it is all the ingredients above that are listed as optional, this should make a great appetizer or even a full meal, kids seem to love it.

7 green onions

  • Whisk oil, hot sauce, honey and paprika to blend.
  • Mince one green onion, mix into marinade.
  • Transfer 2 tablespoons of the marinade into a small bowl to reserve.
  • Add chicken to marinade and turn to coat. Let stand 10 minutes, turning occasionally.
  • Sprinkle chicken and remaining green onions with salt.
  • Grill chicken and whole green onions until chicken is cooked through and onions soften, turning occasionally.

2 1/2 pounds chicken (I'm using thighs)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon favorite spice mix (I'm using Old Bay)
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
2 tablespoons honey (I'm using wildflower)
2 tablespoons mustard (I'm using sweet and spicy brown mustard)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 pound leafy greens (I'm using baby spinach)
One 14-ounce can beans, rinsed and drained (I'm using chickpeas)
1/2 cup sliced red onion
4 strips bacon, diced
1/4 cup vinegar (I'm using white wine vinegar)
1 tablespoon honey (I'm using wildflower)
1 tablespoon mustard (I'm using sweet and spicy brown mustard)
Leftover ketchup in the container (or about 1 tablespoon ketchup)

Steps:

  • For the chicken: Preheat a grill or oven to 450 degrees F. If using a gas grill, set to medium-high heat on one side and low on the other side. If using a charcoal grill, bank hot coals on one side of the grill.
  • Brush the chicken with the oil and season with the spice mix and a liberal amount of salt and pepper. Put the chicken on the hot side of the grill bone-side down, close the lid and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, whisk together the honey, mustard and soy sauce in a small bowl.
  • Flip the chicken, brush with the glaze and grill for 1 to 2 minutes. Move the chicken to the cool side of the grill bone-side down and apply the remaining glaze. Close the lid, open the vents halfway if using a charcoal grill and continue to cook until the chicken registers 160 degrees F in the thickest part, 15 to 20 minutes longer. If using the oven, place the chicken bone-side down on a baking sheet and roast, brushing with the glaze occasionally, until the chicken registers 160 degrees F in the thickest part, 25 to 30 minutes.
  • For the spinach salad: In a medium bowl, mix together the spinach, chickpeas and onions in a large bowl; set aside.
  • Put a heavy-bottomed skillet on the hot side of the grill, add the bacon and cook until crisp.
  • Add the vinegar, mustard, and honey to an almost-empty ketchup container and shake vigorously (or whisk together the vinegar, mustard, honey and ketchup in a small bowl). Remove the skillet from the heat and mix in the ketchup mixture to make a warm dressing.
  • Pour the dressing over the greens and toss together. Transfer the greens to a platter and top with the chicken.
