2 cups sugar
1 cup water
3/4 cup lemon juice
3/4 cup lime juice

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until sugar is dissolved, 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; cool to room temperature., Transfer to a container with a tight-fitting lid. Add lemon and lime juices. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

6 tablespoons sugar
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) water
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) lime juice
6 ounces (3/4 cup) lemon juice

Steps:

  • Juice the limes and lemons.
  • Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat, whisking constantly until the mixture becomes clear, about 1 minute. Remove from the heat. Cool to room temperature (takes a few minutes).
  • Stir in the lemon juice and lime juice, then pour into a jar. Keeps 1 week in the refrigerator (the flavor is best in first 24 hours, but it's still good over a week).

  • Combine water and sugar in large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to boil. Cool syrup.
  • Mix syrup, lemon juice and lime juice in pitcher. Chill until cold. (Can be made 1 week ahead. Cover; keep chilled)

200ml pineapple juice
100g light brown soft sugar
4 tbsp tomato ketchup
2 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp cornflour

Steps:

  • Put everything except the cornflour into a small saucepan and cook over a medium heat, while whisking, until just simmering.
  • Add the cornflour to a small bowl, add 1 tbsp water and mix together. Pour into the saucepan and whisk together until thickened and saucy.

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into 1-inch cubes
3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
3 celery ribs, sliced
2 green bell peppers, diced
1 onion, chopped
½ cup ketchup
½ cup lemon juice
½ cup crushed pineapple with syrup
⅓ cup packed brown sugar

Steps:

  • Combine flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish.
  • Roll and coat chicken cubes in flour mixture.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook and stir chicken in hot oil until not longer pink in the center and juices run clear, 8 to 10 minutes; remove and set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in the same skillet over medium heat.
