Our family can't get enough of this light, cinnamon-sweet popcorn. The baked kernels are wonderfully crunchy and coated just right. Try mixing some to have on hand as an anytime nibble.

4 quarts air-popped popcorn
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Place popcorn in a large roasting pan coated with cooking spray. In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the sugar, water, cinnamon and salt; cook and stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved. , Pour over popcorn; toss to coat. Bake, uncovered, at 300° for 10-15 minutes. Serve immediately.

3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup coconut oil
16 cups hot, freshly popped popcorn

Steps:

  • Stir the confectioners' sugar, paprika, salt, garlic powder, cumin and cayenne together in a small bowl. Heat the coconut oil in a very large pot with a lid over medium heat. Add the popcorn and half of the sugar mixture, cover the pot and shake to coat. Add the remaining sugar mixture and continue to shake until well coated. Serve immediately.

1 teaspoon five-spice powder

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Place popcorn, sugar, oil, five spice powder and salt in a large kettle or pot with a tight fitting lid over medium heat. When corn begins to pop, shake the pot constantly. When popping slows, remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and transfer popped kettle corn to a bowl.

How to make Sugar-N-Spice Popcorn

4 quarts popped popcorn-1/2 C kernels using a hot air popper
5 Tblsp butter, melted
2-3 Tblsp sugar-I used 2 1/2
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Sprinkling of salt-optional

Steps:

  • Mix the butter, sugar and spices until the sugar begins to melt a bit.
  • Pour over popcorn and mix very well.
  • Dig in and love life!
  • Notes:
  • I popped my corn right onto a half sheet pan and melted the butter in a measuring cup with pour spout. This allowed me to slowly drizzle as much popcorn as possible. Then I mixed it on the sheet pan. Other than having to re-gather a couple stray pieces of popcorn this worked very well.
  • The nutmeg is amazing in this, if you have freshly grated that would be best.
