STRAWBERRY SMASH COCKTAIL

Steps:

• Combine strawberries and mint in a rocks glass. Smash gently with a muddler until berries are a pulp and herbs smell strong. Add rum and sour mix and stir. Fill 3/4 full with ice and top off with Prosecco.

STRAWBERRY SMASH

Steps:

• Muddle the quartered strawberries with the Ginger Syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add the bourbon and lime juice, fill the shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with a splash of soda, garnish with a mint sprig and whole strawberry and serve.
• Combine the ginger juice and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Keep covered in the refrigerator up 2 weeks.

BERRY-SMASH MUFFINS (STRAWBERRY MUFFINS)

Steps:

• Heat oven to 425 F.
• Put a paper baking cup in each of 12 regular-size muffin cups, or grease just the bottoms of 12 muffin cups.
• Slightly smash strawberries in large bowl, using fork.
• Stir in sugar, oil and eggs until mixed.
• Stir in other ingredients just until moistened.
• Spoon batter into muffin cups.
• Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until light golden brown or toothpick poked in center comes out clean.
• Cool 5 minutes.
• Loosen sides of muffins from pan if needed, and take them out of the pan.
• Makes 12 muffins.
• Tip: If you do not have fresh strawberries, you can use frozen strawberries that you have thawed and drained.

MEZCAL STRAWBERRY SMASH

Steps:

• Divide the strawberries and basil between 2 large rocks glasses. Season with a pinch of salt. Using a cocktail muddler, muddle the strawberries and basil together until the strawberries are smashed and the basil has broken up.
• Add 1 1/2 ounces mezcal and 1/2 teaspoon agave to each glass. Fill each glass with ice, then top with club soda. Use a cocktail stirrer to mix.

STRAWBERRY SMASH COCKTAIL

Steps:

• In a tall glass, combine the sugar, one smashed ripe strawberry, and a squeeze of juice from the lime wedge. Muddle with the back of a spoon to dissolve the sugar.
• Add the sliced strawberries and lightly muddle.
• Fill the glass with ice and add the gin or vodka. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with the last strawberry.
