Steps:
- To a large bowl, add refried black beans and taco seasoning and mix well to combine.
- In a baking dish or serving platter (I used a 9-inch pie dish), layer beans, salsa, lettuce, olives, cheese, and diced tomato. Cover with guacamole, spreading it into a smooth layer.
- Add sour cream on top, using a squeeze bottle to draw a spider web shape. (I started by drawing intersecting lines in an asterisk/star shape across the dish, then curved lines in between to connect them!)
- Garnish the edge of the dish with more diced tomatoes, olives, and cheese. Serve with your favorite dippers!
- Yields 8 servings Halloween 7 layer dip.

SEVEN LAYER SPIDER DIP RECIPE BY TASTY
Here's what you need: dried pinto beans, olive oil, garlic, paprika, taco seasoning, salt, sour cream, medium ripe avocados, medium lime, shredded mexican cheese blend, medium tomato, black olive, scallions

- Set up a clear, round corningware dish (i.e. a Pyrex baking dish).
- For your first layer of beans, cook 2 cups (340 G) dry pinto beans in an Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker. Let cool. Transfer to a blender. Add a bit of water and blend to a smooth paste (about 1 cup). Alternatively, you can use an 8 oz can of refried beans.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a sauté pan on medium heat and add garlic. Sauté till aromatic.
- Add bean paste and sprinkle in paprika, taco seasoning, and salt to taste. Mix well. Let the beans cook for a few minutes and then take off flame. Spread this paste on the bottom of the bean dip, creating an even layer.
- Then, layer sour cream on top evenly. On top of this, layer the avocados, mashed fully and mixed with the juice of half of a medium-sized lime. (Note: Alternatively, you could use 1 cup store bought guacamole.)
- Then, sprinkle shredded Mexican cheese along the outer layer of the dip to form a ring on top of the avocado.
- Add your finely-diced tomatoes and red onion pieces to a small bowl. Squeeze in the juice of half a medium sized lime. Mix well. (Note: Instead of pico de gallo, you could use 2 tbsp of store bought salsa.) Spread the pico de gallo (or salsa) on top of the cheese ring.
- Sprinkle thinly sliced black olives and thinly sliced green scallions on top.
- To make the spider web: add 2 tbsp of sour cream to a small squirt bottle, thinning out with a little water if needed.. Squeeze out the sour cream and draw a spider web on top of the avocado.
- Top with a friendly olive spider or plastic spider and serve alongside tortilla chips.

Leave room around the edges for the garnish. Sprinkle green chilies over. Smooth salsa over. Smooth guacamole over. Place your sour cream in the end of a ziploc bag. Cut the corner off. Squeeze sour cream on top of guacamole in several concentric circles (or octagon shapes for a more authentic look). Using a knife or the handle of a fork, run lines lightly through the sour cream to make the web shape. Sprinkle lettuce in a circle around bean dip. Sprinkle tomatoes and green onions over. Sprinkle cheese over. Garnish with a creepy spider and serve with lots of tortilla chips!

- Heat refried beans in small nonstick pan over medium heat and season with hot sauce. Transfer the beans to a small, deep casserole dish. Scrape pan clean with rubber spatula and return to heat.
- Add a little extra-virgin olive oil to the pan and raise heat to high. When the oil smokes, add the scallions and sear them, 2 to 3 minutes. Add green salsa to scallions and heat through. Add cilantro, remove salsa from heat, and layer on top of the beans.
- Return the same pan to the stove, lower heat to medium and add black beans, heat through and season with cumin, layer on top of the green salsa.
- Top the black beans with a layer of chipotle salsa. Mix sour cream the lime zest and juice and spread on top of the chipotle salsa.
- Combine the meat of 2 ripe avocados with garlic, lemon juice, jalapeno and salt to form a chunky guacamole. Top the salsa with guacamole. Garnish the dip with the final layer of diced tomatoes and sliced olives.

SPIDER'S NEST DIP

- In a small bowl, mix cream cheese and 1/2 packet of taco seasoning with 1 cup of the sour cream (hold the rest of the sour cream to decorate). Set mixture aside.
- Spread a thin layer of refried beans in the bottom of a microwaveable serving dish. Add a layer of shredded cheese. Heat dish in microwave for 1 minute, until cheese is slightly melted.
- Drain the salsa and layer it over the cheese. Drain the olives and layer over the salsa. Add a layer of the sour cream mixture. Add a layer of guacamole.
- To decorate the top, spoon a medium sized dollop of sour cream in the center. This is the spider's "nest."
- Spoon the rest of the sour cream into an air-tight bag. Cut a very small piece out of 1 of the bottom corners of the bag and, starting at the outer edge of the dip, pipe a thin circle around the perimeter. Create another circle half way between the perimeter circle and the center dollop, creating 3 circles.
- Using a knife blade, toothpick or skewer, drag a thin line of the sour cream from the "nest" outward toward the edge of the dish. Continue making lines all around the "nest" to complete the spider web design. Position whole black beans onto the sour cream "web."
- Embellish with plastic decorative spiders. Serve with a bowl of blue tortilla chips, and watch your guests scurry to get a bite!
