Here's what you need: salmon fillets, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, chili flakes, honey, salt and pepper

3 salmon fillets, 1 in (2.5 cm) thick
1 ½ teaspoons coriander
½ teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon chili flakes
¼ cup honey
⅛ teaspoon salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Place honey in a microwave safe dish and heat for 10 seconds until slightly warm.
  • Add in the turmeric, coriander, chili powder, salt, pepper, and chili flakes into the warmed honey and mix very well until all are incorporated.
  • Wash and pat dry the salmon fillets. When salmon fillets are dry, spoon on the honey-chili mixture onto each, making sure to coat the sides as well (this is messy and you will have to wash your air-fryer pan).
  • Then, place the salmon fillets in an air fryer, set temperature to 400°F and set time to 12 minutes. When time is up, remove salmon fillets and enjoy with your favorite sides.

This recipe has been a staple in the Tila house for years. Sweet chili sauce is a quick way to perk up plain salmon and asparagus. The sauce is the perfect balance of sweet, salt, spicy and tangy, and it's naturally gluten free, to boot. I prefer brands made in Thailand. To make this a complete meal, serve it with brown rice or quinoa.

4 skinless salmon fillets (about 1 1/2 pounds)
8 asparagus spears, trimmed
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup Thai sweet chili sauce (see Cook's Note)
2 scallions, thinly sliced on the bias, for garnish
Cooked brown rice or quinoa, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375 to 390 degrees F on the fan setting, if available.
  • Place your salmon and asparagus in a large bowl. Sprinkle with the seasoned salt and pepper and toss to coat well. Pour in 1/2 cup of the sweet chili sauce (reserve the rest for glazing) and stir to coat well.
  • Arrange the salmon and asparagus in the air fryer so that nothing touches.
  • Air fry the salmon and asparagus for 6 to 10 minutes, or until they're browned on top and cooked through in the center.
  • Transfer the salmon and asparagus to a serving vessel and pour the reserved 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce over the top. Garnish with the scallions and serve with brown rice or quinoa.

This air-fried salmon invokes a spicy yet sweet seasoning. The more seasoning you add to the salmon the spicier it will be, so I recommend starting with 2 teaspoons of seasoning per salmon fillet. You may use less salmon if desired. If you use the full amount you will need to cook in batches. You may have extra seasoning leftover, which can be stored in a jar and kept in a cool, dark place.

2 tablespoons grill seasoning (such as Montreal Steak Seasoning)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
¾ teaspoon ground cumin

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to the fish setting of 330 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 2 minutes.
  • Combine steak seasoning, brown sugar, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle about 2 teaspoons of the seasoning mix (or more, if desired) on each salmon fillet. Place salmon in the air fryer basket in one layer.

Add some sesame seeds, sliced scallions, and a light squeeze of lemon juice for extra flavor, if you like. We like these with a steamed green vegetable and rice, or roasted potatoes and a salad. With either menu, it's great for a quick and elegant meal on a weeknight, or for an easy start to the weekend. Want to serve four people? Simply double the recipe, and adjust the cook time by a couple of minutes.

¼ cup all fruit, no sugar added peach preserves
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon Asian chili garlic sauce, or to taste
2 teaspoons lemon juice
aluminum foil
cooking spray
2 (6 ounce) fillets salmon (1-inch thick)
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
½ teaspoon sesame seeds
1 medium green onion, thinly sliced
lemon juice (optional)

Steps:

  • Stir peach preserves, minced garlic, powdered ginger, chili garlic sauce, and lemon juice together in a microwave-safe bowl until blended. Microwave on high for 30 to 35 seconds, or until boiling. Carefully remove from the microwave and stir again; set aside.
  • Create a foil sling for the air fryer by cutting a piece of foil wide enough to cover the bottom of the air fryer basket and go up two sides about 2" inches. Spray the foil with cooking spray and place in the basket. Poke a few holes in the foil to align with the holes in the basket to allow airflow.
  • Season both sides of the salmon fillets with salt and pepper and place on the foil sling. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
  • Air fry at 390 degrees F (198 degrees C) for 8 minutes. Test for doneness with an instant read thermometer. Farmed salmon is "medium" at 125 degrees F (51 degrees C), and wild salmon is "medium" at 120 degrees F (48 degrees C). If needed, add air frying time in 3-minute increments, until salmon reaches preferred doneness.
  • Lift the salmon filets from the air fryer using the sides of the foil sling.
  • To serve, pour prepared glaze over fillets and use the remainder of the glaze as a sauce. Sprinkle fillets with sesame seeds and green onions and drizzle with lemon juice.

3 teaspoons olive oil, divided
4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
1-1/2 teaspoons reduced-sodium seafood seasoning
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 garlic clove, sliced
Dash crushed red pepper flakes
10 cups fresh baby spinach (about 10 ounces)
6 small tomatoes, seeded and cut into 1/2-in. pieces
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

Steps:

  • Preheat air fryer to 450°. Rub 1 teaspoon oil over both sides of salmon; sprinkle with seafood seasoning and pepper. In batches if necessary, place salmon on greased tray in air-fryer basket. Cook until fish just begins to flake easily with a fork, 10-12 minutes., Meanwhile, place remaining oil, garlic and pepper flakes in a 6-qt. stockpot; heat over medium-low heat until garlic is softened, 3-4 minutes. Increase heat to medium-high. Add spinach; cook and stir until wilted, 3-4 minutes. Stir in tomatoes; heat through. Divide among four serving dishes., In a small saucepan, bring vinegar to a boil. Cook until vinegar is reduced by half, 2-3 minutes. Immediately remove from heat., To serve, place salmon over spinach mixture. Drizzle with balsamic glaze.
