BEST-EVER GRILLED RIBS

Best-Ever Grilled Ribs image

Grilled BBQ ribs might sound intimidating, but they're actually so easy to make. There's no pre-cooking required and they come out smoky and flavorful every time.

Categories     dinner     grilled     meat

Time 2h15m

Yield 6-8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/4 c. light brown sugar
2 tbsp. smoked paprika
1 1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. ground cayenne pepper (optional)
2 racks baby back ribs (about 5 to 6 pounds total)
3 tbsp. vegetable oil, plus more for oiling the grates
1/2 c. chicken stock
1/4 c. apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 c. BBQ sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill (charcoal or gas) to 300˚, with the coals or flames only under one half of the grill.
  • For the spice rub: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and cayenne (if using) to combine.
  • Place the rack of ribs on a large sheet tray and remove the membrane from the underside of the ribs. Rub the vegetable oil all over both sides of the ribs, then sprinkle evenly with the spice rub.
  • Place the ribs on the sheet tray, with the curves of the bones facing down. Add the chicken stock and vinegar to the tray. Wrap the tray tightly with aluminum foil and place on the grill over the side with no coals/flame. Cook over indirect heat until the internal temperature of the ribs reads 180˚ to 190˚, about 80 to 90 minutes.
  • Increase the grill temperature to 375˚ and oil the grill grates well. Transfer the ribs directly over the grill grates and brush the tops with the BBQ sauce. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Carefully turn the ribs over and baste the other side with the BBQ sauce. Cover again and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Continue basting and turning the ribs until the BBQ sauce has created a sticky coating and the ribs are charred in spots, 10 to 20 minutes longer.
  • Transfer the ribs to a cutting board, cut into pieces and serve.

90-MINUTE PORK SIDE RIBS

90-Minute Pork Side Ribs image

These might not have the same delicate flavor of slow-cooked ribs but they are delicious and will be on your table in about 90 minutes or less, and to save even more time boil the ribs a day or evening in advance cover and refrigerate until ready to grill, which will make this a perfect weekday meal, use as many ribs as you wish the amounts are only a guideline. These ribs may also be cooked in the oven, see note on bottom. Prep time includes boiling the ribs and cooling. This recipe is for pork side ribs only, do not use baby back ribs.

Time 1h20m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 lbs pork side ribs
water
1 tablespoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt (can use more or use white salt)
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
barbecue sauce (use your own favorite)

Steps:

  • Place the ribs in a large pot and cover with water (you may slice the slab in half if desired or leave in one piece).
  • Add in seasoned salt, black pepper and garlic powder; bring to a boil and simmer for about 20-25 minutes or until the meat is tender but not falling off the bone; drain, then place the ribs on a large plate.
  • Cover ribs loosely with foil and allow to cool for about 30 minutes or more.
  • At this point you may refrigerate for up to 24 hours or until ready to cook (if desired you may brush ribs with BBQ sauce on both sides before refrigerating to increase the flavor).
  • Heat grill to medium-high.
  • Place the ribs on the grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes or until desired doneness, turning several times and brushing with barbecue sauce.
  • *NOTE* for oven baking; heat oven to 400°F.
  • Place the boiled ribs on a broiler rack on a baking sheet that has been lined with foil for easy clean-up.
  • Brush both sides of the ribs with barbecue sauce.
  • Bake until browned turning once (cooking time should be about 17-20 minutes or until desired doneness) you may brush with more sauce while baking if desired.

SIMPLE BBQ RIBS

Simple BBQ Ribs image

Country-style ribs are cut from the loin, one of the leanest areas of pork. These ribs are seasoned, boiled until tender, then baked with your favorite barbeque sauce. That's it! Back to simplicity, back to the country life. Sigh.

EASY ALWAYS TENDER PORK RIBS WITH BBQ SAUCE NO GRILLING

Easy Always Tender Pork Ribs With BBQ Sauce No Grilling image

I find the advantage of this recipe not only being easy, but also you can cook more than 1 slab at a time (which you cant on the average BBQ grill).

Provided by MissTinkJordan

Categories     Pork

Time 4h5m

Yield 2 slabs

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 pork rib racks
yellow mustard
barbecue sauce (I prefer Sweet Baby Rays)
all purpose seasoning (recipe to follow )
1 cup kosher salt
1/4-1/2 cup onion and garlic powder, depends on your taste i use 1/2 of both
1/8 cup coarse black pepper, i mix it and put it in a shaker and use it for everything

Steps:

  • Hand massage the yellow mustard on all surfaces of the ribs.
  • Then to taste sprinkle the all purpose seasoning to the ribs.
  • Place in a baking pan or roasting pan and set the over for 225-250°F.
  • Bake for at least 5 hours.
  • One hour before they are done, begin to baste with BBQ sauce every 30 minutes till you get a decent coating. If you like, you may broil at the end for a little crispness, but the bones by this time will be falling out. Leftovers (if you have any) may be used for pulled pork sandwiches.
