Ok, it took a while but I said I would post a report when I got the loads tested with the new SNS bullets I ordered a while back. I ordered 125 grain SWC coated bullets in 38 caliber and 200 grain SWC's in .45.

Web Aug 1, 2019 15,920. Before I started casting, I bought and loaded and shot a lot of SNS bullets. They use a certified 92/6/2 alloy with a Brinell hardness of 16-17 for everything they cast. That is a pretty hard alloy for 45 Colt. I don't know what your loads are, but bullets that hard can benefit from HOT loads.

Web Dec 16, 2013 The coating is a Polymer paint with a resin hardening agent. You mix the color, resin, and cut it with acetone, then tumble your bullets in the mix, then bake them at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. The usual mix is 5-1-7.

I noticed when running them over approx 4.0g TG (Dont have my data handy) that I got a fair amount of leading in the barrel, and they also seemed almost as smoky as regular cast bullets. Web Jan 27, 2017 The 2 brands I have used are from Blue Bullets and SNS Casting. A 3rd option would be included here but for 2 reasons: Missouri Bullet Co. is a bit higher, and if they could follow what they do in .38 Sp. with 12 BHN polycoated, the price difference wouldn't matter.
