Steps:
- Place first 10 ingredients in a 6-qt. slow cooker. Add water; sprinkle milk powder over top., Cook, covered, on low until cauliflower is very tender, 6-8 hours. Remove bay leaf. Puree soup using an immersion blender. Or cool slightly and puree soup in batches in a blender; return to slow cooker and heat through. If desired, serve with toppings.

Steps:
- Combine cauliflower and water in a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Heat a slow cooker on Low. Pour in cauliflower and water. Add processed American cheese spread and cream cheese; stir well to be sure cheese is dissolved and mixed through the cauliflower. Add potato flakes and garlic. Mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for 2 to 3 hours.

CROCK POT HAM & CAULIFLOWER CHOWDER
Crock pot E-Z; creamy, chunky fully-bodied chowder using cubed leftover ham and Half and Half(substitute, if you choose) to tempt your taste buds. Even better next day or can be frozen in muffins cups zipped tightly into large plastic bag for individual use later. Base recipe from internet with my upgrades. I'm trying it over rice as an encore; whaddya think?

Steps:
- Steam trimmed whole head of cauliflower with stalk down for about 6 minutes.
- Remove and cool to handle.
- Break off florets and finely dice stalk.
- In cast iron skillet, sauté onion and celery in butter or oil over Medium-High heat until softened.
- Add diced ham and saute 1 minutes.
- Place all ingredients EXCEPT Half and Half and cheddar cheese in crock pot.
- Stir to blend.
- Cook on LOW for 6 hours; extract 2 cups of chowder and add 3 tablespoons potato flakes and puree in blender until smooth; return to crock pot.
- Add Half and Half; and cook 30 mins.to 1 hour.
- Sprinkle individual servings with cheddar cheese, if desired.
SLOW-COOKER WHOLE CAULIFLOWER
A delicious and easy recipe from cooktopstove.com. Can be either a side dish or a vegetarian main course. I'd advise leaving out the salt; the Parmesan is plenty salty already!

- If cauliflower has greens still attached to the bottom, leave them on. Place whole cauliflower in the slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, mix together garlic, butter, sage and lemon zest. Pour butter mixture over cauliflower. Use your fingers to rub into the surface.
- Evenly sprinkle with the salt and pepper, followed by the powdered Parmesan cheese.
- Pour the lemon juice around the cauliflower in the slow cooker (not on top of the cauliflower).
- Cook on low for 5 hours, or on high for 3 hours, 30 minutes.
- Gently remove the cauliflower from the slow cooker. Add parsley to the slow cooker and mix with the liquid from cooking.
- Slice the cauliflower and pour the sauce (cooking liquid with parsley) over the top. Serve with grilled chicken or fish, or let it stand alone and shine.
