HIBACHI-STYLE FRIED RICE

Hibachi-Style Fried Rice image

One of my favorite parts of hibachi is the fried rice and I was determined to make it at home. This recipe is quick and easy and is sure to be a big hit. I enjoy using left-over teriyaki chicken in my fried rice, but you can use any meat you want or no meat at all! With or without chicken it is equally as delicious and a great side dish! You can use more or less garlic, depending on your personal preference.

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 14

2 cups uncooked Calrose rice
2 cups water
2 tbsp avocado oil
2 cloves garlic minced
1 cup onion diced
1/2 cup carrot diced
1/2 cups frozen peas
2 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
2 eggs (scrambled)
pinch of salt and pepper to taste
2 Green onion for garnish (chopped)

Steps:

  • Start off by cooking 2 cups of Calrose white rice with 2 cups of water in a rice cooker. Once it's cooked, take it out and let it cool completely. You want to make sure that the rice is fully cooled or else your fried rice will be mushy.
  • In the meantime, add 2 tablespoons of avocado oil into a large 14-inch wok. Bring the heat to high. Then add 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 cup of diced onion, and 1/2 cup diced carrot. Stir for about 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. I recommend using a wooden spoon here.
  • Then add 1/2 cup frozen peas and stir for 1-2 minutes.
  • Now add 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1/2 tablespoon toasted sesame oil, 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons soy sauce, and 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce. Quickly stir the sauce into the vegetables.
  • Once the sauce is simmering, add your cooled white rice. Stir the rice over high heat until it is well coated in the sauce.
  • Now whisk up 2 large eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper. Then push the fried rice to the sides of the wok to expose the center and add the scrambled eggs in the middle.
  • Stir only in the crockpot get just until the eggs are scrambled and cooked. Then mix the eggs with the rest of the fried rice and garnish with 2 chopped green onions. Serve warm with yum yum sauce.

HIBACHI FRIED RICE

Hibachi Fried Rice image

Hibachi Fried Rice is a great start or side to an amazing meal! The hibachi chefs are wildly entertaining as they make shapes on the teppanyaki grills out of the eggs intended for your fried rice!! All of the food at a Japanese steakhouse is delicious, but my tasty hibachi rice is a fan favorite!

Provided by Angela

Categories     Side Dish

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 Tbsp sesame seed oil
2 1/2 Tbsp olive oil ((light or extra virgin))
1/4 cup rice cooking wine
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 cups rice ((cooked long grain white rice, I typically use Jasmine))
1 Tbsp Hibachi Cooking Oil ((see above))
1/4 cup white onion ((finely chopped))
1/2 cup peas and carrots ((frozen blend, or a 1/4 cup of each peas and finely chopped or diced carrots))
1 large egg
2 Tbsp butter ((salted))
2 Tbsp soy sauce

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients in a jar or squeeze bottle that you can seal with a lid to shake up the contents, and for storing any unused portion ( if desired ).
  • Shake container before using to cook hibachi style foods, such as this hibachi fried rice, noodles, vegetables, chicken, steak, or seafood.
  • Set all prepared ingredients near workspace as this is cooked on high heat. Using a large wok is preferable, but a large skillet or frying pan will work. Bring wok or skillet to high heat with hibachi cooking oil blend or alternative ( cottonseed, canola, peanut oil ).
  • Cook the egg in the heated oil, quickly breaking the cooked egg apart and moving to the sides once cooked. Add vegetables and saute for about 2-3 minutes. *Reduce heat in small increments as needed if cooking too hot.
  • Heat butter for 10-20 seconds in the microwave and stir in the soy sauce ( add garlic or garlic powder, if desired ).
  • Add the cooled rice to the wok or frying pan, then the butter sauce. Fry for an additional 5 minutes, or until the rice and vegetables are well combined, coated with butter, and everything is heated through.
  • Serve immediately, garnish with sliced green onion or sesame seeds.

SIMPLE HIBACHI FRIED RICE

Simple Hibachi Fried Rice image

Quick and easy hibachi fried rice recipe. It's easy to throw together to serve with sautéed chicken, steak, salmon, or shrimp! If you want additional veggies, feel free to toss them in!

Provided by Marzia

Categories     Rice & Pasta

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 cups cooked and cooled rice (see notes)
1 tablespoon EACH: grapeseed oil (or avocado) AND butter
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
½ cup chopped onions (yellow or white)
2 teaspoons grated ginger
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce (or GF tamari)
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1 scallion thinly sliced, for garnish

Steps:

  • EGGS: Heat a large dutch oven, griddle, or wok over high heat until hot. Add the oil to the pan and allow it to heat through. Add the eggs (lightly beaten) to the skillet and scrambled them in the pan quickly, breaking up any large pieces. Remove the eggs to a bowl and set aside for later.
  • SAUTE: Add the butter to the skillet and allow it to melt. When melted, add the onions and cook them for 3-4 minutes or until softened. Add the grated ginger and give it 30 seconds before adding cooked rice and eggs back to the skillet. Stir everything to combine. Flatten the rice out into a thin layer and allow the rice to sizzle for 30 seconds untouched. Stir and then let sit again for 30 seconds. Alternating gives the rice time to heat through. You'll notice the rice starts to sizzle and pop in the pan.
  • FINISH: Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil into the rice and allow it to sizzle and soak into the rice, stirring so it coats the rice evenly. When the sauce is absorbed and the rice is popping, it's ready to serve. Sprinkle a chopped scallion on top (if desired) and serve!

HIBACHI CHICKEN AND FRIED RICE

Hibachi Chicken and Fried Rice image

This is a recipe for a full hibachi style meal. It includes the chicken, veggies, fried rice, and bean sprouts. My husband and I put together a combination of recipes that we found on the interenet and created this one. It is very good for a night in, when you do not wish to pay the expensive prices at the Japanese steak house.

Time 35m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 30

for the hibachi chicken
1 -1 1/2 lb chicken breast
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon sesame seed oil
1 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 dash salt
1 dash pepper
for the hibachi vegetables
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon sesame seed oil
1 large white onion
1 large zucchini
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 dash salt
1 dash pepper
for the hibachi fried rice
4 cups cooked rice (cool to the touch)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup white onion
1 cup bean sprouts
2 large eggs
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons soy sauce
for the hibachi bean sprouts
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 cups bean sprouts

Steps:

  • Note: Cook the rice first, so that it has time to cool down before you fry it. Cook the chicken and veggies at the same time in two separate skillets or woks. Make sure to keep the chicken and veggies warm while you cook the fried rice and bean sprouts.
  • Hibachi Chicken.
  • Cut the chicken breast up into bit sized pieces. Heat the vegetable oil and sesame oil in a large skillet or wok on medium high heat. Add the chicken, soy sauce, butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Sauté the chicken for 6-8 minutes or until no longer pink.
  • Note: Do not clean skillet. You will reuse this skillet for the fried rice.
  • Hibachi Veggies.
  • Cut the white onion into slivers. Quarter the zucchini. Heat the vegetable oil and sesame oil in a large skillet or wok on medium high heat. Add the white onion, zucchini, butter, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Sauté veggies for 6-8 minutes or until veggies are tender.
  • Note: Do not clean skillet, you will use the same skillet for the bean sprouts. The oil that is left over will be used for the bean sprouts.
  • Hibachi Fried Rice.
  • Chop the onion. Heat vegetable oil on medium high in large skillet or wok (use the skillet or wok you cooked the chicken in earlier). Add the onion and sauté. Sauté onion for 3-4 minutes or until almost tender enough to eat. Add the bean sprouts. Sauté for 1-2 minutes. Move the vegetables to the side of the pan. Add the eggs, lightly scramble as you add them to the skillet. Once scrambled add the rice and butter. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the soy sauce and cook an additional minute.
  • Hibachi Bean Sprouts.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet or wok (use the skillet or wok that you cooked the veggies in earlier). Add the soy sauce and bean sprouts. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.

HIBACHI BEEF FRIED RICE

Hibachi Beef Fried Rice image

This is a recipe I came up with last night and it is as good as the rice that we order at one of those Japanese grills. The key to the success of this, for me, was to make this in steps. I made it with sirloin but you could leave out the meat for a great side dish or add your own meat, chicken or seafood.

Provided by jmo912

Categories     One Dish Meal

Time 30m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

5 cups white rice (cooked the day before)
1 bunch green onion, chopped
1/4 cup diced carrot
1/2 cup diced onion
2 tablespoons garlic (minced)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 lb sirloin (cut into thin bite size strips)
3/4 cup butter (sliced into 8 to 10 pieces)
salt and pepper
vegetable oil
1/4 cup sesame seeds

Steps:

  • In a large skillet heat up about two tablespoons of oil on med. high heat. When oil is good and hot, add all of your veggies and cook stirring frequently for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Transfer to a plate. Return skillet to the stove and add another tablespoon of oil over med. high heat.
  • Add beef with a little salt and pepper and a couple of pats of butter. Stir around for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Using a slotted spoon, take the beef out of the pan and add to the plate of veggies.
  • Discard any juices from the pan and return pan to stove. Dump rice into skillet and add remaining butter, soy sauce, salt and pepper to taste, and sesame seeds. Stir constantly over med high heat for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the veggies and meat and continue to cook until all of the ingredients have blended and the rice is good and hot. You may want to add/reduce the amount of soy sauce and butter according to your taste.
