EASY HOMEMADE PASTA SAUCE

Steps:

• In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until soft. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
• Stir in tomato products, oregano, rosemary, crushed red pepper, salt and pepper. Taste sauce and if desired, add sugar. Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, until it is thickened up a bit. Use as desired.

EASY PASTA SAUCE FOR ONE

Steps:

• Put oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat until hot. Add tomato and garlic and cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook until sauce is fragrant, about 5 minutes. Add chopped basil and cook until soft, 1 to 2 minutes.

SIMPLE PASTA SAUCE

Steps:

• In a small saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion; cook and stir until tender, 3-5 minutes. Add brown sugar and garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Add the tomatoes, basil, oregano, bay leaf, salt and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes or until liquid is reduced. Remove bay leaf.

QUICK PASTA SAUCE

Steps:

• In a large skillet over medium heat, saute garlic in oil until tender, 2 minutes. Stir in basil and crushed tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper and cook 15 to 20 minutes, until slightly thickened. Serve immediately.

WEANING RECIPE: EASY BABY PASTA SAUCE

Steps:

• Set the oven to 180 (fan assisted). Place the tomatoes, red pepper, courgette and red onion in a deep baking tray. Sprinkle over the herbs and add the tablespoon of olive oil and mix well. Cook for around 20 minutes.
• Meanwhile heat the remaining olive oil in a pan and gently fry the carrots on a medium heat for 5-6 minutes then set aside.
• Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth-ish
• Stir into cooked pasta (fusilli works best as the sauce clings so well to it).
• Any leftover can be frozen (try freezing in ice cube trays for perfect baby-sized portions).
