AMISH SHOOFLY CAKE
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Mix brown sugar, flour, and butter with a pastry blender until you have fine crumbs.
- Reserve two cups of the crumbs for the top.
- Combine the boiling water and baking soda, then add the molasses and salt. Mix well.
- Mix the molasses mixture with the remaining crumbs. And pour this into a greased 9x13" baking dish.
- Starting at the edges, scatter the reserved 2 cups of crumbs over the top.
- Bake for about 45 - 50 minutes. Cool and enjoy.

Steps:
- Mix all dry ingredients with margarine.
- Take 1 cup of mixture and reserve for topping and set aside.
- Dissolve baking soda in hot water.
- Add molasses, water and dissolved baking soda.
- Mix well.
- Pour into a greased 9x13 pan.
- Sprinkle with reserved topping mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
MOLASSES CRUMB CAKE
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Mix flour, sugar, and butter together in a large bowl until large crumbs form. Separate 2 cups of the flour mixture into another bowl and set aside.
- Stir boiling water, molasses, and baking soda together in a third bowl until baking soda dissolves; pour into the flour mixture in the large bowl and stir until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the reserved flour mixture over the top of the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 50 minutes. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.

Steps:
- Preheat over to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour a 9X13 pan.
- Mix flour, sugar and butter together by rubbing between your fingers to make crumbs.
- Take one cup of crumb mixture and put aside to use for the topping.
- Add the baking soda to the molasses,stir.
- Pour molasses mixture into crumb mixture and then add the boiling water and stir with a large spoon.
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Top with the 1 cup of crumbs you saved.
- Bake 30-40 or until a toothpick comes out clean.

- Mix together flour, sugar, oil, and salt. Reserve two cups for crumb topping.
- Dissolve baking soda into warm water.
- Add water mix and molasses to dry ingredients.
