This is a light and refreshing alcoholic drink perfect for a hot summer's afternoon. It is certain to be a hit with the ladies! I use Red Stripe since its taste is closest that of Castle Lager, but any lager would be good.

- Pour well chilled beer into tumbler.
- Gently pour in well chilled Sprite.
- NOTE: since the ingredients portions are equal, you could make this as small or as large as you like!

LEMON SHANDY
Steps:
- In a small saucepan bring sugar and 1 cup water to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved, and stir in zest. Cool sugar syrup to room temperature.
- Transfer syrup to a small pitcher and stir in remaining 2 cups water, lemon juice, and mint. Chill lemonade until cold. (Makes about 4 1/2 cups lemonade.)
- Pour 1/4 cup lemonade, or to taste, into each of 4 chilled beer glasses and top off with beer.

TRADITIONAL BRITISH SHANDY RECIPE - FOOD FANATIC
The ‘Shandy’ name is derived from the old British name ‘Shandy-gaff’, which is a drink from the 1850’s of beer and ginger ale. Shandy is a mix of equal parts of beer (lager) and lemonade. It must be fizzy lemonade. Also, no ice. Ice is not served in beer and it doesn’t belong in this drink, just use very cold beer and lemonade.
