Time 2h15m

Yield 3 litres

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 cups pineapple chunks
2 Granny Smith apples, cored and cut into cubes
2 unpeeled lemons, thinly sliced
2 unpeeled limes, thinly sliced
1 cup green seedless grapes
1 cup red seedless grapes
1 small unpeeled orange, thinly sliced
1.5 liter red wine, such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot or pinot noir, chilled
1.5 liter dry white wine, such as chardonnay, sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio, chilled
1 cup orange or citrus flavored rum
1 cup orange or citrus flavored vodka
1 cup sugar
Ice, for serving

Steps:

  • Place the fruit in a large vat. Pour in the red wine, white wine, citrus rum and citrus vodka. Next, to add a subtle sweetness, dissolve the sugar in 1 cup water and add it to the mix. Stir well, then cover and refrigerate for several hours, giving the fruit and liquids time to meld. Serve in glasses over ice, and have tongs nearby so guests can help themselves to the fruit.

QUICK SANGRIA

Quick Sangria image

Though this recipe makes a great sipping sangria, you can also make it into ice cubes. Serve sangria with sangria ice cubes, or add the ice cubes to a glass of red wine for a fun twist.

CUBAN SANGRIA

Cuban Sangria image

This is a recipe for Cuban Sangria that I first had at a pool party in the Little Havana area of Miami. It was made by the host in a large cooler and dipped out during a BBQ and party. It was the best Sangria I have ever had and my wife and I have made it several times since to serve with rave reviews. BEWARE! It is a strong drink and in the summer sun it will creep up on you as it goes down so refreshing.

Time P1DT30m

Yield 30 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 (750 ml) bottle inexpensive fruity medium-bodied red wine
1 (750 ml) bottle coconut rum (I use Captain Morgan)
1 large fresh orange
1 fresh lime
1 fresh lemon
5 fresh kiwi
1 lb green grape
1 fresh mango
1 lb fresh strawberries

Steps:

  • Wash and cut the fruit into small chunks.
  • You do not need to peel the fruit, just wash and chunk.
  • Place the cut fruit pieces into a large cooler (we buy the Styrofoam disposable coolers with the lid).
  • Pour the full contents of the red wine and rum over the fresh fruit, mixing and stirring.
  • Cover the cooler and let sit for at least 24 hours in a dark cool place.
  • (This is the hard part.).
  • Serve the mixture by spooning out with a ladle into cups with the fruit and liquid.
  • Can be poured over ice, but is equally as good straight from the cooler.

SANGRIA

Sangria image

Homemade Sangria it can't get any better than this! Try it with Fajatias! Even though Sangria originated in Spain it is typically served with mexican food. Add Sliced fruit to make it attactive in you pitcher. White wine can be used instead of red, in which case the result is called sangría blanca. In a bar, pub or restaurant, sangría is often served in 1-litre pitchers or other containers large enough to hold a bottle of wine plus the added ingredients. A lid or other strainer for the container helps prevent the fruit and ice cubes from being served. In informal social gatherings, sangría is often served like punch, from a punchbowl.
