This addictive grapefruit and tequila cocktail, served right in the can, is refreshing, subtly sweet, and salty. It's ideal for navigating the crowds on a hot beach day.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (12-oz.) can Pamplemousse La Croix
2 oz. tequila blanco
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. triple sec
Lime wedge (for serving)
Kosher salt

Steps:

  • Pour off or drink 5 oz. from pamplemousse so that 7 oz. remain in can. Combine tequila, lime juice, and triple sec in a measuring glass or cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and stir or shake well to combine, about 20 seconds. Strain into can. Rub outside rim of can with lime wedge, then sprinkle with salt.

This Paloma cocktail recipe is a refreshing version of the tequila cocktail with grapefruit soda, brightened with a squeeze of fresh lime and grapefruit.

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 oz. grapefruit soda (preferably Ting), chilled
1½ oz. blanco tequila
½ oz. fresh lime juice
¼ oz. fresh grapefruit juice
Pinch of kosher salt
Grapefruit wedge or slice (for serving)

Steps:

  • Fill a highball glass two-thirds full with ice. Slowly pour in about 2 oz. grapefruit soda, filling glass about one-third full. Add 1½ oz. blanco tequila, ½ oz. lime juice, ¼ oz. grapefruit juice, and a pinch of kosher salt. Top with remaining grapefruit soda, stir gently, and garnish with a grapefruit wedge or slice.

  • Slice the grapefruit in half widthwise. Using a citrus juicer, reamer, or the tines of a fork, juice one half of the fruit and set aside. Cut the other half into 1/2" slices.
  • Spread kosher salt onto a small plate and shake to create an even layer of salt. Run one of the grapefruit slices along the rim of the glass, then dip the glass into the salt to create a salt rim. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the grapefruit juice, tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup or agave nectar. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  • Pour the cocktail into the prepared cocktail glass. Top with soda water to your preference and garnish with a grapefruit wedge. Serve immediately.
