Recipe For Longhorn Chili Food

"The intense yet fruity spice of the habanero is tempered by the rich sweetness of the mango. It's the perfect drink for a warm day," says Chris.

Yield 1 longhorn (plus extra syrup)

Steps:
- Make the habanero syrup: Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Let cool. Combine 3 tablespoons of the simple syrup with the habanero in a liquid measuring cup; muddle the habanero with the syrup.
- Make the drink: In a separate liquid measuring cup, muddle together the lime juice, pineapple and cilantro. Stir in the cloves, cinnamon, seltzer, mango nectar and 1 to 2 tablespoons of the habanero syrup. Add ice and mix well until cold.
- Strain the drink into a martini glass.
LONGHORN CHILI DIP
I adopted this from the Recipezaar account and made a couple additions after making it. Suggested items for dipping: tortilla chips, veggies, and/or bread sticks. Cooling time is included in cooking time.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Lightly grease a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
- Cream the cottage cheese in a blender or food processor or with an electric mixer.
- Stir in the chili, cumin, cheddar cheese, hot sauce, lemon or lime juice, paprika and oregano.
- Transfer mixture to prepared casserole and bake for 30 minutes.
- Let cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese with a mixer or by hand then stir in cooled chili mixture.
- Serve chilled or room temperature with dipper(s) of choice (I prefer tortilla chips).
