Learn how to make the perfect, tender and fluffy Omelette. The key to the perfect omelette is making sure you don't overcook it. It should remain light yellow in color and never brown. You can customize a basic recipe in so many ways.

2 large eggs
Pinch fine sea salt
1/2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella (low moisture, part-skim)
Fresh spinach (coarsely chopped)
Sautéed mushrooms
Crispy Air Fryer Bacon (chopped)
Sautéed diced bell pepper and onions
Ham (diced)
Chives or parsley, chopped (to garnish)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Baby tomatoes (halved)
Avocado (diced)

Steps:

  • In a small mixing bowl, beat together eggs and a pinch of salt until foamy.
  • Place a small nonstick skillet over medium heat and swirl in 1/2 Tbsp butter. Once butter is melted and bubbling, add frothy eggs to the skillet and immediately reduce the heat to low.
  • Use a spatula to pull the cooked eggs into the center, letting the liquid egg fill the space behind it. Continue going around the pan, pulling the eggs towards the center until the eggs are nearly set.
  • Once the omelette is sliding around the pan easily and you can get a spatula underneath, flip the omelette over and turn off the heat.
  • Sprinkle cheese over the egg and add your favorite toppings. Fold the omelette in half and slide it onto your plate then garnish as desired.

½ tbsp olive oil
3 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup cheddar cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a pan (non stick if possible) on a medium heat.
  • Crack the eggs into a bowl and mix well.
  • Pour the egg mix into the pan.
  • Using a spatula, ruffle the omelette so it doesn't stick.
  • Let it cook for about 3 minutes.
  • Here's the important part: when the egg mixture looks nearly cooked (but there's still just a tiny bit of runny egg left) drop on the cheese, if using.
  • Fold one half of the omelette on top of the other.
  • Slide it on to a plate - the heat from closing the omelette will finish cooking the inside.
  • Season with salt and pepper (be sure to do this after cooking - the flavour comes out so much more!).
  • Enjoy your perfect omelette.

Quickie, No Mess Omelette image

I started throwing things in my new kitchen toy (Magic Bullet) and out came the best omelette I've ever made! All ingredients (except the eggs, milk, and spices) are optional, use whatever veggies and meat combinations you like. P.S. Don't be put off by the blending of your veggies, I always made mine with chunky veggies in the eggs (or into the center after cooking with the cheese) but I was in a hurry and these are really good! You can taste the flavors of all the ingredients throughout your omelette. A real tastebud sensation!

2 large eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup green pepper
1/4 cup red pepper
2 tablespoons onions
1/4 cup ham
1/4 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
2 medium mushrooms
2 teaspoons club house garlic plus seasoning
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Put all into blender (except butter) and blend until veggies are well minced.
  • Melt butter in a medium fry pan over medium heat until butter starts to bubble.
  • Lift and tilt pan to distribute butter all over pan.
  • Pour egg mixture into fry pan and cover.
  • Cook until top is set.
  • (you might have to lift omelette and tilt pan to let stubborn eggs slide under and cook).
  • Gently fold omelette in half and slide onto plate.
  • Enjoy with a piece of toast.
