I LOVE Red Lobster's GC Biscuits, so I wanted to try to make them at home. A friend of mine found me a drop biscuit recipe and then I added to it. These didn't last long that's for sure!!!

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup melted butter or 3/4 cup margarine
1 cup milk
1/2-1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2-1 teaspoon garlic salt, depends on your taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Stir in milk and 1/2 cup butter just until moistened. Add Cheese.
  • Drop batter by tablespoon on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Meanwhile, add garlic salt to remaining melted butter.
  • Bake buscuits for 6 minutes.
  • Remove biscuits, drizzle with garlic butter and return to oven for another 6-7 minutes, or edges are golden.
  • After removing from oven but while still warm drizzle with garlic butter again.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Nonstick cooking spray, for the baking sheet
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into small cubes and chilled
1 1/2 cups freshly grated sharp Cheddar
2 tablespoons minced fresh curly parsley
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
Flakey sea salt, such as Maldon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder and salt in a large bowl. Add butter to mixture and use a pastry cutter or two knives to blend until the mixture resembles a coarse meal. Stir in cheese and parsley. Add buttermilk and stir until just combined.
  • Use a large ice cream scoop to drop biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with flakey sea salt. Bake until golden brown, 15 to 18 minutes. Serve immediately.

2 tbsp butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine flour, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and salt. Using a pastry blender or 2 forks cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. With a fork, add buttermilk and cheese and stir until mixture forms a soft dough. Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Combine butter and remaining 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (if using); brush on biscuit tops. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Preheat oven to 450°. Combine biscuit mix, cheese and onion in a large bowl. Stir in milk until a soft dough forms; stir 30 seconds. , Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Combine butter and garlic powder; brush over biscuits. Serve warm. Freeze option: Freeze cooled biscuits in resealable plastic freezer bags. To use, heat in a preheated 350° oven 15-20 minutes.

1/2 c butter or margarine, melted
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  • 2. Stir together the biscuit mix, milk, and cheese until well-blended.
  • 3. Drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet, making 15 biscuits.
  • 4. Bake 5-8 minutes, or until golden brown. **Check the bottom of a biscuit to make sure they are not being overbaked.
  • 5. Stir together the melted butter & garlic powder.
