QUAKER OATS' PRIZE-WINNING MEATLOAF

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
• In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Press into an 8-by-4-inch loaf pan.
• Bake for 1 hour to medium doneness (a thermometer inserted in the center should read 160 degrees) or until not pink in the center and juices run clear. Let stand for 5 minutes and drain off any juices before slicing.

• Run the dry oats through a food processor to break them up.
• In a large bowl, combine oats, ground beef, tomato juice, egg, onion, salt and pepper, and mix well with a fork. Press firmly into ungreased 4 x 8 inch loaf pan.
• Bake for one hour. Let stand five minutes before slicing.

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, mix together the beef, oats, onion, salt, pepper, tomato juice, and beaten egg. Mix until just combined (do not overwork the meat). Pack the meat into a loaf pan. Place in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.

Steps:

• 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredientsin large bowl; mix lightly but thoroughly. Bake 50-55 minutes or until meatloaf is to medium doneness. (Beef 160 degrees, Turkey 170).
• 2. Twenty minutes before the meatloaf is done, drain off grease and liquid. Cover the meatloaf with 1/2 cup of the grated onion. Mix the remaining sauce ingredients in a pan and heat slightly, do not boil. Brush on top of meatloaf. If you like more sauce you can always double the ingredients. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.

• Heat oven to 350°F.
• Combine all ingredients except chili sauce. Mix lightly but thoroughly.
• Press into an 8x4-inch loaf pan.
• Zigzag top of meatloaf with chili sauce.
• Bake for 1 hour or until meat is no longer pink and juices run clear.
• Drain and let stand 5 minutes before serving with more chili sauce on the side.

• Heat oven to 350.
• In large bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix
• lightly but thoroughly.
• Form into a loaf. I use an over-sized pyrex dish
• so juices drain off as loaf cooks.
• Bake 1 hour or until meatloaf is to medium doneness (106F) and center is no longer pink.
• Let meatloaf stand 5 minutes; drain off any juices before slicing.
