HOW SIMILAR/DIFFERENT IS THE CUISINE IN PR, COMPARED TO MEXICAN ...

There is even good Tex-Mex, believe it or not, it is just that Tex-Mex has been commodified and distributed to the world as a cheap 'fast food' so it has a bad reputation. At any rate, PR food is nothing like Mexican and is closer in ingredients and technique to other Caribbean cuisines, as already noted.

Mar 29, 2013 Lived there 2 years and didn't eat it. Mofongo and Tostones, no thank you. I am from CA and avoid fried foods which is difficult with Puerto Rican food. But for the most part I cooked at home and I lived in Ocean Park so if I went out to eat I had a plethora of food choices within walking distance and really very few were Puerto Rican food.
