PROSPERITY SANDWICH - MAYFAIR HOTEL RECIPE - (5/5)

Ingredients

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
1/8 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp grated Swiss cheese
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
3 slices bread, toasted
3 slices turkey breast
3 slices smoked ham

Steps:

Make the sauce: Melt butter in a small pan. Gradually stir in flour until smooth. Slowly stir in milk. Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Stir in paprika, Worcestershire sauce and cheese. When cheese melt, remove from heat. Top each slice of toast with a slice of turkey and a slice of ham. Cut them in half diagonally. For each serving, arrange three open face sandwich halves on an ovenproof plate. Pour sauce over the sandwiches. Place under a hot broiler just until heated through.
